Go for a rectangular shaped mirror that is table width ... the area can take it! and "echo" or compliment the table colouring.

Go for mirror frame that isn't too swirly in design ... too much "movement".

If there's design on frame, choose " simple lines" ... install in the "landscape" position.

Get a 70cm tall (x 30cms at top) square-shaped trapezium pot and place to the right of the table ... plant up with a waterwise plant (plant that doesn't need much water). A multi-stemmed "Draeceana marginata" would be one recommendation for added depth in the area, and that wow factor.

(If the pot has hole at bottom, seal it with waterproof putty ... add at least six inches deep of pebbles or gravel as "drainage" ... cover pebbles/gravel with a 8cms layer of scrunched up plastic (keeps potting mix entering the drainage are) ... add potting mix and plant up. Cover the soil around the plant base with a layer of 5cms glass pebbles. Use a glass lazy susan at the bottom of the pot so that the pot can be turned without scratching floors and even plant growth)

Have you tried a Framing Shop....

You can chose the frame and have it made to the size you want, and they can provide the mirror. We have a wonderful place close by, and I get all my framing done there. They'll let you bring a sample home to try. Not all are over the top expensive, just shop around. Good luck with your search.

I think it's the shadow making it look a tad wider.

Why not try a moving the console slightly towards the stairs and add a plant on the floor in the corner. Perhaps a palm that just comes above the console. It'll deflect the eye.
