Kitchen splashback using wallpaper
Comments (21)We have installed wallpaper behind glass splash backs on many occasions without any problems, the glass usually being attached by a thin beading of clear silicon applied around the inside perimeter of he glass, then fitted the day after the wallpaper install. MOST importantly the INSIDE of the glass be kept perfectly clean on install as even fingerprints will stand out...See MoreSubway Tiles For Kitchen Splashback. Where can I find edging tiles?
Comments (5)Have you already sourced your tiles? I would expect most tile stores could help you find the edging tiles which I think are typically termed 'pencil' tiles for the style you have shown. We used bevelled subway tiles in our DIY ensuite. In hindsight we would have aimed to finish the brick pattern with 1/3 and 2/3 sized tiles (like in your pic 1) rather than full and 1/2 (pic2 and 3) to give a more even edge thickness/profile... Might not suit and we didn't use capping tile (I lost that arguement!) so it is probably more obvious in our bathroom, but just something you might like to consider....See MoreKitchen splashback ideas
Comments (17)Hi Jo -this is open plan the house originally had fake brick archways as you entered and lounge dining with a separate kitchen as shown in the picture. We closed in one arch that was on the right as you entered and opened the wall to the kitchen. We added 3m to the back and swapped the lounge/dining orientation to meals as you enter and family opposite kitchen before 5 bifold doors and the bifold window that is the kitchen. Not in the pic is a butlers pantry. I'm not sure if you can follow this. In the family room we have a gas fire, we're having carpet laid, once it's organised I'll post some more pics if you're interested. i like houses where I'm not buying what someone else has done - the entire house has been renovated in and out but not yet finished. Dawn the window is aluminium....See MoreAdvise needed in choosing color for kitchen walls, cabinet & splashback
Comments (35)i have not looked into the splashback pricing yet, as i am still stuck onto the colour fr the cabinets. we have to decide it tonight. I have been looking at warm whites, as suggested earlier in the thread. Antique white USA in 1/4 strength i think will go with the grey colored stone. I have read tht in full strength it throws cream tones. NOt sure if this colour scheme will work. i still have to decide the wall colours for the kitchen. We have finalised hog bristle1/4 for the living area with natural white for ceiling n trim....See MoreGallifrey
