Hi Barry, I personally don't think the large blank space lends itself to a piece of art. It's up too high and contrary to your thoughts, it wouldn't be the feature you'd hope for it to be. Besides, the money you spend on a piece large enough, would be better spent on a smaller, higher quality piece mounted at the correct height (eye-level) that would compliment another part of your home. Getting back to the blank space, have you considered using a timber veneer for the wall cabinets? Something that would work with your bench, and then you could use the same veneer as wall panels to continue above the blank space over the cupboards. Perhaps you could even incorporate led strip lighting to give it a little more wow factor. Timber is great because it adds a layer of warmth to the polished concrete and dark cabinets. Amber, there are so many whites and much to take into consideration when deciding which colours suit you, your style and the rest of your home. For example, what is your kitchen wall colour and the colour of any adjacent walls? What material will be used for your cabinets? What floor coverings are in the kitchen and surrounding areas, and what are their colours? Do you want a laminate, engineered stone, marble or granite benchtop? Warm white or cool white? I believe once you have narrowed the field a bit, suggestions will follow.

Exactly the same tones as mine except i lifted it with a stainless steel col glass splashback and s/steel handles. I can change my accessories to suit the season even . clean and lovely as dark col bench tops look cluttered to me.Infact last week we even replaced the two downlights with 2 smoked glass pendents over the sink ( like yours) and they look great. Hi Louise, In your situation where you do not have a Kitchen Renovation company doing all the work for you, then I suggest that you now contact a glass splashback manufacturer local to you. IME most glass splashback manufacturers will also offer to do the measure and the install where in this way you can be sure it fits properly and all these steps are coordinated. Regarding colour, A good Glass Splashback Manufacturer will visit you on site with colour samples on glass, where their representative can then help you select a colour that works with your benchtop and the reflective colours from other sources in your room. If you are leaning towards whites, I always find that using a paint with a small metallic fleck also helps to lift the chosen colour, and I also suggest that be sure to go for Low Iron Glass as this ensures that your chosen colour is not distorted.
