New kitchen after water damage

Drawers for plates etc. I find overhead cupboards hard to access what is at the back be it glasses or cups or foodstuff, so having these too deep is not practical. Pull out vertical shelves for your jars & packets. I like the idea of under cupboard & kick-board lighting. Have you considered a dust vent that you can sweep all your crumbs etc into? They are similar to ducted vacuum units & fitted at floor level under a cupboard. Also incorporate storage for all your appliances to hide them away. If you go with a glass splash-back, make sure it is clear glass as some is green tinged can ruin your intended effect. Enjoy your new kitchen....See MoreCoastal home renovation: before & after
Comments (7)i especially like the extra width to the garage that creates the offsett look of the garage door and extending the house forward in separate areas that helps make the roof so much more interesting without changing the basic shape...very well done, congratulations to the design and construction team and lucky homeowner...See MoreBefore & after: A 1970s apartment makeover
Comments (17)While it is a great update on a budget , I'll be the desenting voice haha . Theres a few things I would have done differently . I don't like the polished concrete floors -- a bit too trendy IMO , especially when other items haven't been updated -- a mix of periods looks a bit strange to me . Ironically , the only place I would have considered the polished concrete is the bathroom floor -- the blue tiles look great , the white cabinets and black taps -- and then you keep brown speckled tiles on the floor ? The kitchen is okay -- I'm not a huge fan of the blue doors , personally I would have gone with bright yellow or orange , and gone with oversized stainless handles on all the cabinets , and a stainless wall oven . And fake weatherboard aged vinyl board flooring in light brown and whitewash mix -- it would tie in better with the cupboards and the new stainless oven and handles . I'd suspect my budget would have been within a couple of thousand of yours ? Likewise , I like the overall design of the living and bedroom areas , with the exception of the concrete -- too trendy , too cold IMO . Personally , I would have gone with beige or cream or maize carpet , maybe extending the kitchen 'aged weatherboard' vinyl flooring into the dining area . Then again , everyone has different tastes ....See MoreBefore & after: A kitchen renovation
Comments (5)Dreamer, with all due respect, I think it’ll take more than changing the colour of a blind to improve the original kitchen. The new update improves bench space and flow considerably. For instance the BEFORE area around the stove is tight and the position of the pantry is smack bang in the middle of the engine of the kitchen. IMO if you haven’t got the luxury of a walk-in pantry, then it’s best to have the pantry and the fridge at the ends of this style of kitchen, if possible, especially if you have hungry teenagers and large grocery shopping to unload. The NEW kitchen does it for me....See MoreTribbletrouble44152k7 Trek
