The next one - the Scandi/Industrial one is to build and sell. The one after, 'should ' be the last one - the forever house. Re: the shipping container. We did do all the work ourselves - well my husband fitted out the container and an attached caravan in two weeks! At the conclusion of the build of the house pictured, we put the whole lot up for sale and ended up selling it to a family that was doing the same thing in country NSW. We've started a business called Container Homes R Us with the plan to make little homes for people, not so much houses made of shipping containers - cause in our opinion, that costs more than just building a standard home but making it look like a container. We probably couldnt start anything till next year though, which gives customers time to think about their design.

my suggestion are based on the fact that mum and dad are usually at the house alone and aims for simple two person accommodation that can be rearranged to suit a crowd...the kitchen cabinets are the only fixed objects in the room and include a tall pantry, base cabinets and/or drawers with open shelves and wall cabinets and space for several people to work side by side with a small extendable dining table, two chairs and a bench seat (also used as a place for newspaper and lamp etc behind the recliners)...a patio with big table for outdoor eating under the shade of the tree with extra bench seats that can also be used inside... there's space for a small divan or night and day lounge with a wall hung tv and the corner bedroom door allows for much better circulation space in both the living and bedrooms with preferably a sliding glass door for indoor outdoor connection with or without the original front door and, based on the size of king single beds, there's no other arrangement that would allow both beds to have a view to the lake and there's just enough space for a biw, small desk and two chairs

what power do you need?....there's electrical lighting, wired in appliances and power points...think about what you need for each room..eg overhead lights, ceiling fans, air conditioner, hot water, space heating, power for gas heaters, dishwasher, washing machine, ceiling heaters, exhaust fans and range hoods , bathroom needs plugs for hairdryer, shaver, electric toothbrush, bedrooms could include power points for bedside lamps, electric blankets, radio and desk lamp and chargers etc etc...list each room, compare to the home you live in and consider all the times you need a handy power point including access for a vacuum cleaner, and don't forget outdoor lights and power ...extra power is never cheaper to add later but costs can be reduced by having power points back to back for two separate rooms..of course you'll need a licensed electrician to install the power and they should be able to suggest minimum requirements
