Help, help, Decor help! Exposed brick in living/dining room combo
Comments (25)Hi everyone, I'd like to thank you all for your input. Have been a busy spring and summer, but now I'm back and able to focus on the living room. Couple of things have been done/removed since lately: 1. Leather lounge set: I've (luckily) sold the leather lounge set - absolutely great piece with great quality, but not my taste at all. It made a world difference to the living room and even dear hubby, who liked the set, did acknowledge that the difference of less furnitures is great. 2. The rug 3. The white cabinet 4. New curtains with pelmet I love the pelmet although it's old style and yes, the curtains are too short! Will amend this at later stage :) These changes have made a huge impact on the room. Also, I'm also open to change the dining table with chairs for another nice option in an attempt to make this more interesting/cozy/inviting. So, these are the only things that I won't be able to change (we may (note on may) also move house by the end of this year/early next year) # Blinds # Colour of trims and built-in bookcase # Camel back sofa - I'm happy to reupholster it though and change the fabric. This will cost $2000 but I think it's worth it since they are really comfortable and are of good quality. I'd like to integrate the white frame with the gold poster in the design - an idea is to place 3x posters on the biggest wall of the air conditioner. I'm aware that a brown frame may suit the gold poster better, but I'm so tired of the colour brown at this moment. --------- So, I now feel I'm able to adjust as per your suggestions and recommendations much easier now. Appreciate every response and idea (And sorry for the mess of papers on the desk and floor! We're busy professionals and sometimes I have to let my husband have his creative space despite my OCD when it comes to decluttering and keeping it tidy)...See MoreHELP! Any ideas how to fix the living room end of our dining room?
Comments (25)First ,is removing excess furniture an option? Second, why bar fridge in the dining area, that really ruins the look. Seems that you can not move dining table closer to the kitchen because you have light pendant above the table, so can you move piano where your black couch is and couch on the other side of the room instead of creamy colour sofa . I notice the luck of coffee tables and side tables, that's probably why you like to sit around dining table, it is not visitors friendly and doesn't encourage conversation or interaction. I will come back to it have to study photos more. Are the arm chain the other room similar colour to the couch in the dining area?...See MoreHow should I arrange my kitchen/living/dining space?
Comments (13)you need a large rug underneath your living room furniture to sit ot all on there - not half on / half on. to connect the dining to the kitchen i wouid add a pendant over the kitchen bench with a smaller matching one over the dining table - that will connect the spaces. Definitely a console or buffet with a mirror above it on the wall with whee your dining table is situated. the mirror will reflect the mood lighting of the pendant back into the mirror. Use another rug in a coordinating color - not the same ( as your living) to them tie all the spaces together....See MoreHelp with arranging furnitures for lounge/office study
Comments (28)This room seems to have an identity crisis. I'm assuming you have another living room where you watch TV etc. I would style the room as purely a den/study not a family lounge room. The snuggle chair is a show stopper and I would have it opposite the front door as you walk in. I would declutter the bookshelf so there's nothing on top and it's more of a display case for the models. I'd place it next to the snuggle chair, as in your picture above. Then I'd put the desk in your preferred position (diagonally opposite the snuggle chair). It's important you're comfortable while you work. I'd place a smaller cube storage, maybe a 3x4 Kallax, in the corner behind the doorway. This should take the overflow from the bookshelf and work files etc. I would completely remove the lounge and ottoman, it's lovely, but I don't think it fits. If there's room you could place a smaller occasional chair in the corner near the , but I'm not sure you need it....See MoreVy
