Need to choose a colour scheme for new apartment
Comments (7)Very hard without visuals. Generally speaking, I would avoid black tiles in the bathroom. They will show soap marks, water marks, dust and even scratches can be more pronounced. Lighting in the room will also dictate the degree that black can be used. The kick board in the kitchen should really match the cupboards for a more seamless look - you don't say what colour they are. When it comes to the kitchen both colours will show dirt - anything dirty IS dirty!! I prefer to keep as much as possible white so I instantly know when something needs cleaning to keep the kitchen clean and hygienic and visitors to the home can see immediately your kitchen is clean. That is very important to me. As far as everything else goes you need to look at the big picture to ensure you don't end up with dots of black everywhere and create a messy, disjointed look. Today's wall ovens and hot plates in black glass look very dramatic on a white bench top, but you can still keep other appliances like fridges and dishwashers white so they take a back seat. Can you see other finished apartments to get a better idea of what has been done and how it looks?...See MoreNeed help on choosing tile colour.
Comments (2)jersey you have no photos in your idea books. Search for photos of kitchens here on houzz - save all the kitchen photos you like in one idea book. You can refine the search to include white cabinets bench tops and tiles and see what comes up. I have 10 ideabooks but many here on house have dozens! So start looking now ; ) Having an all white kitchen with white floor tiles could look a little sterile or bland , look at introducing some colour or texture or elements of timber for warmth. See photos i found here on houzz! The first one to me seems very sterile but the second one introduces some timber elements and the third a little bling ....See MoreNeed help choosing a rug to match this multi-coloured fabric.
Comments (24)I don't profess to be an expert in anything useful. I've two rugs on floor boards and one needs some non slip (avail from Bunnings) and one doesn't. It's quite cheap. I've also seen Martha Stewart add rows of silicon to the bottom of rugs to make them non slip but to me that ruins the rugs....See MoreAdvise needed in choosing color for kitchen walls, cabinet & splashback
Comments (35)i have not looked into the splashback pricing yet, as i am still stuck onto the colour fr the cabinets. we have to decide it tonight. I have been looking at warm whites, as suggested earlier in the thread. Antique white USA in 1/4 strength i think will go with the grey colored stone. I have read tht in full strength it throws cream tones. NOt sure if this colour scheme will work. i still have to decide the wall colours for the kitchen. We have finalised hog bristle1/4 for the living area with natural white for ceiling n trim....See MoreVy
