White or black benchtops?- I can't decide!
Comments (14)Hi Petapea, With the colours you already have in the kitchen, a white ‘marble look’ caesarstone that has texture, streaking or specking in it would suit very well. You wouldn’t want to go with one that is predominately white; it might make the room look too clinical. Regarding marble instead of caesarstone, definitely be careful, marble WILL stain from coffee, red wine, acidic foods (tomatoes, lemons) etc. despite sealing, which is fine if you’re happy for a seasoned look, but if you want a clean unmarked surface, stick with the caesarstone. If you wanted to make the kitchen stand out even more and it was in your budget, you could also consider matte black cupboard handles – this would look good with either type of bench top, or painting the door to the kitchen black. Hope this helps!...See MoreKitchen colour scheme advice needed
Comments (9)Hi Sheree, the Black Galaxy with its Bronchite fleck will work well with your kitchen not only for its colour and style but also for its functional benefits. Peacock Pearl and Volga Blue would also be good options; enjoy. Black Galaxy. Peacock Pearl...See MoreKitchen colour scheme opinions - carrara marble splashback & benchtops
Comments (0)We're renovating our kitchen and are at decision time to decide on benchtops etc. I'd love any opinions or advice on the colour scheme we're considering as we're not sure if it will all go together and it's a big chunk of money, so we want to get it right! :-/ The kitchen is a smallish U shape with a breakfast bar which opens to the lounge room. There's limited natural light so we want it to be as light as poss. The cupboards will be all white poly, floorboards are white sand engineered bamboo, walls are quarter strength tranquil retreat. For the splashback we're looking at carrara marble hexagonal tiles, benchtop - caserstone intense white and cupboard colour lexicon half or quarter or possibly vivid white (satin finish). We like the pure white of the intense white benchtops but not sure if it will compete with the splashback tiles (although the texture is very fine). Any opinions/other ideas?? Also not sure on which white to go with for the cupboard doors - leaning towards Lexicon half. Photos below of the floorboards, carrara splashback tiles, caesarstone intense white benchtop and paint samples. If anyone can offer any opinion or advise on this selection or other alternatives we could consider it would be really appreciated!...See MoreKitchen colour scheme help
Comments (5)I think darker lower cabinets, lighter top cabinets and just some accents of the woodgrain, like some shelves etc will look great. Just don't have the woodgrain near the floor. I prefer the charcoal rather than the black because it looks a little softer. Dark black can look very oppressive if it doesn't balance with other elements in the room....See Morescottevie
