Need some Backyard designs ideas
Comments (7)What area in Melbourne? I ask because I'm near the beach and it can affect your plant choices greatly. You are best to go to a local plant grower so you know they can grow in your area and the sales people know what might work best with your soil. I love the shed so I wouldn't hide it. If you plant Australian natives around it, it could look like a bush hut. Have you got young children? If so you could put the pond I front of the shed and then put up a cute fence around it so they can look but not drown. Pinterest have lots of great ideas, it's worth having a look. These photos are from Pinterest. I'm about to build on very sandy soil so I'm going to go for a native garden too. Comments (8)A path around the boundary of the back yard and allow for garden beds or hedges on the boundary of your property. A figure 8 or roundabout would be lots of fun as well. Remember they will grow out of the little tykes cars and will be on scooters and bikes soon, which means more speed. Mark out tracks with garden hose or line marker spray paint. Think about where a veggie patch or garden beds might go. Concret would be the best surface for a path. Have fun!...See MoreIdeas for my backyard entertainment area
Comments (2)Oh super helpful. I searched for Pool Houses but "Enclosed Pool Houses" have really filtered the designs I was looking for inspiration. Thanks! It's so important I find the right builder for this in my area. I've not had much luck in the past with contractors and really want a smooth build. Cheers!...See MoreMy blank slate back yard. Comments (5)It’s a bit difficult to tell from the photos, but it seems the paving is in good condition? Maybe a pressure clean? Against the colourbond fence, maybe establish some shrubs that will eventually get tall enough to screen the next door house, and soften the fence? The back deck and stairs - does that flow from your living room. Maybe if budget allows, extending that with a nice deck with wide stairs could increase the connection between inside and outside, while reducing the overall expanse of paving. There is a sold wall next to the yard where the hills hoist used to be. Which room is this? It would be nicer if that room had windows overlooking the yard, or doors to link it to backyard - but this could depend on the function of the room. If not viable, needs something to soften the blank wall. Turfing the part of the yard where the hills hoist used to be, may make a big difference....See MoreTribbletrouble44152k7 Trek
