Comments (5)Personally, I would defs go with the White Oak. If u hold it next to the carpet samples above, it works so much better than the Blackbutt, which I feel is too "yellow". I have made the "yellow" timber floor mistake in the past & regretted it later. You will also find that the White Oak will work with more furniture colour options. The texture effect of the White Oak will not make the room appear too white, especially if you inject other colours with the furniture, cushions, lamps, baskets & decorating items. Check out an on-line colour wheel for inspiration. :)...See MoreLaminate flooring
Comments (15)Hi there. Same as above,. We laid our own flooring from Masters. You need 1cm around all edges against the walls. One important thing to do when you purchase the boards and bring them home is to leave them in the room you are going to lay them in and stack them like jenga bricks so they dont bow as they are exposed to the humidity and temperature of that room. Also if you have a large window they need to be laid adjacent from the window. It does need a thin underlay as per above its maybe 1-2mm thick plastic or foam with shiny back. consider what is uunderneath the floor.is there a bathroom below and moisture coming up through floorboards? Was it a concrete floor that still had glue patch or uneven surface as floors are meant to be leveled before laying. Did you remove the skirting boards before laying? Perhaps when they were put back they were too close to the boards and the pressure stops ability to expand, presuming expansion room was left. Good luck....See MoreWhat color laminate floor?
Comments (3)I think Riven refers to the texture of the surface. Ours looks and feels like real timber, and is not a flat shiney surface like most Laminex. Still very durable and water proof. I believe that it should only be used on vertical surfaces, which was not problem for us. Floors are a real personal taste thing. We got samples of the flooring and samples of the Sublime Teak, and then procrastinated for weeks. Our flooring has texture to it as well. We also had help form a great designer who worked in the tile store we used....See MoreTribbletrouble44152k7 Trek
