There's access to one cupboard on the left hand side with a touch catch. You can see the panel is up off the floor 10mm to allow to open without scratching the floor.

A new footprint is the best answer. As okloiuse said the existing dining area can become the kitchen. This allows for good flow of foot traffic through this busy area and access all round the kitchen if you have an island. The area is not big but if it is well thought out in terms of storage it should work really well. Your biggest cost will most likely be in moving your plumbing fittings and electricals especially if you have a concrete slab floor. Opening up the doorway between living and dining areas would make the room bigger but may require an engineers report. As we do not know your budget these may be costs that are outside your current budget. If it is something you wish to do get some prices in so you know how much you will require for the full project. great advice above. Good luck

The part of the home that you have shown, does not appear small. Room sizes are good. The problem is the kitchen in a thoroughfare, but it has plenty of storage. And the wall between sunroom and living. i would seriously look at removing the wall between sunroom and living, check with a structural engineeR. You said you do not want to remove walls, but this is the only way you can increase the size of that room. Maybe keep a supporting post in the middle, and work your furniture around it. Then install of full wall of storage on the dining/laundry wall.

@dairy_maid Thank you for your comment! We might not have a range hood since we're probably buying an induction hob with a build in extractor. I'm not sure about option 2 because you wouldn't be able to do the dishes and cook on the induction hob at the same time. The wall on the right is shorter than it is is in the Ikea images I sent over (there's 33cm less wall there), so I feel like it might become too tight in that corner... What do you think of one of these layouts? The kitchen island would maybe be 20-30 centimeters wider, but that still leaves 110cm of walking room around each side. You kinda still have the "Kitchen work triangle" since you can basically acces the induction hob from 3 sides. Also, if picking one of these options, would it be better to put the induction hob on the island or the sink? Option 3 Option 4 Option 5: Shorter isand, with bar stools opposite to each other
