Interior modern colour

Hi there, I would like to repaint my interior walls. Currently everything is white including ceiling. What colour I should choose to modernise my interior? Also my funitures are blue colour

White walls alone will not give you a modern look, you must think about a rug , art and accessories first- paint colour always comes last.

Here are a few photos on houzz, I just searched for modern living room with blue sofa. But note the white wall colour is just a backdrop for the art , rugs and curtains. Wall color alone will not make your place look modern.

White is already fairly modern. Are you able to post some photos of what areas you are really looking to change? You also need to start some Houzz look books so we can see what look you're after.

Hi, You could introduce some mid century pops of colour, mustard , teal and burnt orange. This could be in your dining chairs or cushions and throws and art etc. I would only go with black if you are intending to have black elsewhere as the floor looks like it could be quite dark. If you wanted to go a bit more scandinavian you could accessorise with pale blue soft greys and creams. The Viva creme suite gives scope for introducing more colours than the darker one but it is important to introduce some colour. Good luck.

Hi annabelle630, Congratulations on designing your new kitchen! You mentioned Caesarstone Statuario Nuvo may be throwing off a deep white (almost blue) colour compared to Quantam Statuario. Have you worked out how you will stop the hot summer sun coming into the kitchen? I have lived in a couple of houses with west facing kitchens, and the hot afternoon sun in summer makes life difficult when trying to cook dinner.

so which paint colour should I choose for my lounge room? the paint that is modern and looks unique and can match my furniture

Apart from the paint colour there are a few other things I would change first. Are you able to change the vertical blinds? They are contributing to the dated look. I would lose the table clothes completely and get some modern art for your walls. The lighting is also something I would look at changing especially the ceiling pendant ( too traditional) and the floor lamp. I would also get rid of half the sofa cushions.

Changing the paint colour alone will not make your place look modern, IMHO.

Your walls look more cream than white. Maybe have a look at Dulux Lexicon. It's a bright modern white.

bigreader - read Lexicon has a tinge of blue. You choose this white due to my furniture are blue? What do you think of Antique White USA compare to Lexicon?

Hi degafs, for you seeking a modern outcome I wouldn't go with Dulux Antique White USA. It's a great colour but it's not what you're after.

I suggested Lexicon because it also looks great in 1/2 and 1/4 tints.

Just reading the latest Home Beautiful and there is a great house that uses Dulux White on White. I'd also consider that.

I know I am a broken record but you cannot select paint colours from a screen or even make suggestions. The colours on the screen are rgb, no where as complex as the colours in real life. For the sake of a few hundred dollars get a professional, save you thousands of dollars in the long run. The physics of colour is complex and adjacent colours, reflected colour etc can change what a colour appears.

I think you are on the right track to modernizing your place. I would describe the current color of the walls to be dated yellow white. Antique White USA is a lighter version of what you have, you could also try warm white or whisper white or natural. I'd hesitate to recommend any of the cooler whites though since i assume by modernize you mean update.
