Bathroom Renovate - toilet in bathroom or separate?
Comments (6)I would have to say, it is not, a no no. However, how you decide to do this will determine whether it is positive or negative. If the toilet is in direct view as you enter it is likely to be negative, but the impact can be reduced with a smaller pan and an in-wall cistern. Noise and smell are often factors that will influence the decision. So, the smell can be overcome with an automated odor extraction system and there are also low noise inlet valves available. As far as property value is concerned there is a multitude of scenarios and just as many opinions, so consider how much convenience this will give you and how long you intend to stay in the property? perhaps it may be better enjoy your home the way you would like it to be....See MoreRenovating a small bathroom
Comments (6)hi scott, you have a similar sized bathroom as mine with things being mirrored to me. My idea for my space was to have sandstone coloured and textured flooring (150×300mm) with mat white textured and coloured wall tiles of the same size covering the wall to the ceiling. Getting a smaller sized vanity (3 draws 1 door) about less than half the size of the room with a decent sized bowl with a square design to allow it to hold more water. The vanity will be just bigger than the bowl. I'm removing my bath and shower to install a Roman type bath (a square-ish bath made with the tiles and not a porcelain bath). This gives me the option of a bath or a shower. The baths sides will be about 500mm off the floor with a frame less glass between the vanity and the bath. On your site the shower and bath taps will be off the current bath plumbing. The glass would only be able 800-1000mm wide so you could step in to the bath. A frameless barn yard style mirrored cupboard with led lights would be installed above the vanity and I'm looking at installing a sliding door so that I can use more space without the door getting in the way. I hope this gets your mind going and your likes and dislikes to come through to build your bathroom....See MoreSmall bathroom renovation.

Comments (8)we have tiled over a wall that encloses a cavity slider by adding an extra layer of reinforcing to the internal wall that also allows for installation of grab rails that double as towel rails..we chose a solid core door and extra heavy duty tracks and the door slides inside the tiled wall with very little sound but, to allow for the extra reinforcing panel, the wall is 125mm thick excluding the architraves...See More- 7 years ago
