Paint instead of tiles in a bathroom?
Comments (4)Not unthinkable at all. There is a splash back product called metaline by laminex that is a splash back surface, with benefits that glass doesn't have. Firstly, the cost factor is reduced as it can be installed as per simple instruction with adhesive and silicon sealant and can be post cut meaning if you later decide you want to install power points or cut outs for taps, lights etc, you can cut through it on site after it's installed, with rouge Ed glass for example that cannot happen. Secondly, it is a large scale product without pattern, so joins are minimized although some metallic colours are in the palette so they can be reflective and moody if that's what your interested in. Metallics are right on trend, so one of their neutral tones would line the entire bath feature wall and look sophisticated and not fussy at all. It could also provide the colour inspiration for the room, if everything else is kept neutral. Go online for it's use and samples. Good luck. Comments (15)We installed a feature wall of tiles in our bathroom of a similar pale blue-green colour to your examples. The closest dulux colour I came across was dewpoint. (Not quite close enough to be painted alongside the tile so we went with white for the non-tiled portion of wall so I can't show you a sample of it painted but might be worth looking at)....See MoreSpray paint vs hand painting for a bathroom cabinet; chalk paint??
Comments (2)can't advise about the best paint but suggest you take one of the doors or drawers to a specialist paint shop and ask them (not basic hardware store)...you won't need much paint so the best quality to suit the job will be a worthwhile investment...should be a simple easy job but would imagine that brush painting will be safer and less messy for the walls but you could spray doors and drawers outside for a different finish but the paint specialist should be able to give best advice and would love to see the finished job and learn what product you chose...See Morepaint colour in bathroom
Comments (2)I have lexicon above my white tiles but I have mid grey tiles on other walls and floor. Fit you if you want a little contrast to ceiling maybe 1/4 lexicon. But really just white on walls and ceiling will be fine and cheaper as no fiddle cutting in...See MoreAnn B
