I am about to start some alterations and the front door is currently dark violet purple but soon to be black. I will however be retaining the natural rimu on the inside even though my kitchen walls are dark charcoal currently. I like them so much the new kitchen will have the same coloured walls. The new sliding windows in the kitchen have a pine frame so won't match the rest. I am going to paint it dark charcoal too, with the cedar sliders and rimu finishing.

Where did you get it, by the way? I am actually looking for some doors for my terrace. The thing is, I don't want them to be opaque. I would like the same design for the lines to be a little more subtle with more transparent glass. Actually, I think there is no need for ornaments on the glass. Just a little shading would be more than enough. I am also curious about the prices on this one because if it's triple compared to a simple door, then I am not even considering

If you paint all entry doors same colour as walls they tend to ‘disappear’ and won’t compete with the robe doors. Re the drawer set up fold some of your own & partner’s clothes the way you want them to fit in your new cabinetry and measure from there. A 9cm height could be a great underwear drawer, or if you have power to the back if it a charging station for phones & laptops. Make a careful inventory of everything that needs to fit and decide from there.

swinging doors need a much bigger space to open and block access to side walls unless they open outwards (also harder to waterproof) and you remove the car...we have a rear 2.4m wide roller door without any intention of driving through to the rear garden (although occasional rear car access doesn't cause too much harm to the grass) but the wider opening is so much better for more light and easy access with a wheelbarrow or lawnmower and we have a 1.2m narrow concrete path across the outside rear of the garage to extend the total floor area which is ideal for working with table saw etc i suggest you cost the roller door with or without controller as the twin hinged door with suitable handles and locks may not be any cheaper and far less convenient
