Need help with roller blinds in awning windows

We have just had installed double roller blinds into awning windows. Unfortunately, the installation method does not allow us to remove the fly screens for window cleaning. Has anyone else had this problem? And, if so how did you rectify the problem?

You will be able to release the blinds from the brackets to gain access to the windows... have you been able to do this? I would think you could then unclip the latches on your fly screen and manoeuvre the screens around the blinds brackets. There are a number of online video tutorials to help you with this.

Thank you My Beautiful Abode for your comment. The blind installer informed us that the blinds can't be released from their brackets and that once installed, a blind and it's bracket has to be removed as a unit. However, the window manufacturer demonstrated to us how the screens can be manipulated in sideways and then forced into position. Each time this procedure is carried out the window frames and fly screen frames are prone to damage. We don't believe that the present bracket design "is fit for purpose" and would not have purchased from this manufacturer of blinds had we been aware, or advised, that the blinds could not be released from the brackets.

In the same position, except we have renovated our beach house, 3 bed + study on the Sunshine Coast. Have no idea where to start. Roller blinds have been suggested throughout but sounds kind of boring??

I have confess I got a little lost in your question, but I can offer my advice. I try to have the least number of blinds as possible, of course the blinds need to fit into the manufacturers size tolerences and some common sense comes into play too. If you need multiple blinds across a very large window and want to avoid multiple chains to operate the blinds, motorization is always an option (hard wired or battery operated). For stacking slider doors, I usually have a smaller blind over the main door opening and a larger blind over the balance (as I find the smaller door opening is used more frequently, and access is better this way). I prefer having the blinds meet over the windows mullions (rather then over the glass) to offer the most privacy possible as the blinds will have a gap between them. I hope this helps you.

I have translucent on stacker to alfresco, It's great as don't need it for privacy, just for reduced sunlight at times and if wanting air con to be more energy efficient. It is lightweight so you can have a large expansive without doing 2 or 3 blinds. I have double roller blinds i every other room. Blockout and sunfilter. Love them, and how you have choice to let light in, and blockout in our master bedroom during day for shift worker hubby. I have white as it was recommended to reflect most sunlight, not absorb it. Black looks great and is more transparent from the inside so if you get the 'sunlight screen' type you can see through very clearly, but people cant see in, until it gets dark, then you roll down your blockout blind for privacy at night. The 'white' sunfilter is not as see- through as the black from inside.
