Kitchen splash back ideas needed urgently!!!

User

We have a large kitchen that wraps around 2 corners and has a bench open to the dining/living. We have a beautiful polished concrete floor that is the feature of the open plan area, and the kitchen cabinetry is white with white stone tops. Paintwork will be white. The bench wraps around the corner to a hidden pantry - the induction cooktop is on one bench (see pic) and the sink is on another (not in the pic and about twice as long as the bench shown here). So, we have two long spans that require a splash back. The plan was to have glass and run it at 300mm along the bench and up under the stainless range hood. However, the quote has sent us reeling! We are also having the Laminex product Metaline quoted on. Not keen on tiles, given the polished concrete is our feature; also, tiles look a bit functional and the corner pictured below is visible from the living room. Could we just seal the wall/bench interface as pictured here and run the glass under the rangehood around to the sink?? All help welcomed!!!
