Double or single vanity/ sink for ensuite ?
Comments (10)Faye, If you were lucky enough to have your proposed wall hung toilet on an outward facing wall, then future access could be achieved from outside but since that's probably highly unlikely, then I'd agree with haephestus that you can get some lovely flush wall toilets. Case in point, I'm having a spa bath and it is on an outside wall so I'm having access to the pump by way of a neatly made door in the external brickwork, save ever having to pull up tiles or similar in the future, or the very least making an unatractive access door in the bathroom. If something can go wrong, then it will go wrong unfortunately, murphy's law!!! Good luck with your project. Cheers, Barbara...See MoreWould bathroom be too big?
Comments (9)I'd like the space you have Jodes, especially the pantry (envious), but am a little concerned at having the media room easily accessed via "mud" room, and being adjacent to the main bedroom... all that "mud", and noise from teenagers??? My other concern is width of the passage - will furniture damage the walls in manoeuvering into bedrooms? I'd perhaps consider incorporating the laundry space and function into the second bathroom (houzz has lots of pics) and eliminating the "mud room". The extra space is preferable for a free-standing bath, but that said, it depends on family set-up. If the bath's for children go for something easily cleaned, if for yourself, maybe re-design the ensuite. All the best!...See MoreBathroom vanity help please
Comments (13)A three way bathroom can cost twice as much to tile than one large bathroom, ( sometimes more, depending on your tiles, there is a lot of cutting, it is in fact 3 rooms , each with its own tile bed, if you are doing it yourself, have a tiler give you a quote before , if you are having a professional business renovate in Sydney about $ 30K for all labour only. for a 3 way , this should be about $ 22/ $ 24 K for one large room, with nib wall vanity to toilet, niches to shower and bath, anything cheaper we would have doubt about quality of waterproofing, tiling, sound insulation To make a decision, go and sit on the edge of your bath by yourself and visualize your finished bathroom. one large ( less expensive room, ) or three small rooms. ON paper ideas can be appealing. Buying at the place where trade buys can keep cost lower. e.g Kaldewei Eurowa made in Germany steel bath 2.5 mm thick $ 400 You state it is your master bathroom,to us your master bathroom should have the look, if you go to sell your home this could make/ break the sale. Back to your vanity, the larger vanity will make the room look cluttered. Ken Evers...See MoreIdeal size for a double vanity?
Comments (22)Hi there Not at all, I liked that your sister had a good idea, but can see where you are coming from. Bunnings has had a fairly recent addition to their bathroom vanities, lovely wall hung with drawer and gorgeous slim benchtop. You mentioned that there was a cupboard behind the opened bathroom door, could that be updated for linen storage. In this current layout, the shower is run towards the door with the shower and taps on the outside wall, this helps to direct water away from your large sash window. The shower would be narrow across and longer on the left wall. The whole bathroom floor tiled the same and where I have a short wall that could be a glass screen? I have added a 400 wide full height linen cabinet but if you were to use the other cabinet for bathroom storage you could certainly have a longer vanity with either one or two drawers. This with the mirrored shaving cabinets should give you lots of extra space cheers...See Moremlk01
