Furnishing living room

I'm having trouble on where to start in furnishing my living area. Initially, the plan was to have the TV between the two windows and perhaps an L shape lounge but that's as far as we got. The room connects to the kitchen and has the entrance to the side so it's a bit of an awkward space. Any suggestions? Even if it's just what couch configurations to put in to get us started.

Comments (12)Hi,. Thanks for taking the trouble to write and explain about the dresser/entertainment unit. I agree, I too would use it as a dresser/entertainment unit. Specially since I notice that the drawers are rather deep as against the shallow ones that are available right now,. I too have moved into a brand new apartment close to the city and prefer white as it makes the place look larger. You can add colour with your accessories like colored vases. We started with a couple of matching, new, couches in charcoal gray, then, when we could see the size of remaining area, added a rug, a couple of armchIrs, coffee table, side tables, all of which we got from an old wares/antique shop, to add interest, and to avoid an overall matchy look. I then added lots of cushions in greys, white and oranges, which bought in some colour, which was needed, and colourful throws. Finally we added some colourful artworks to the walls. 7 years agoThanks everyone, looks like the tv is going on the long wall. I will definitely try the masking tape idea!
The wall opposite the kitchen is about 2.7. The plan for that wall was there to be a pot belly/fireplace.
