Advice on updating kitchen colours
Comments (10)Try White Knight products "Laminate paint" and "Tub and Tile" paint to freshen up your cabinets and splashback (it's a bit fiddly but not hard) and a company called Granite Transformations to update your bench - you could possibly paint the benchtops if they're laminate but you might have issues with scratching the surface. Change out your stove exhaust for a pull out type (about $400 plus electrician) and think about new tapware. Good luck....See MoreUpdating kitchen and bathroom we can reposition the walls
Comments (9)my suggestions are only approximate as i can't read the measurements properly but the wall between the kitchen and new toilet is much more than 700mm but, what about the kitchen wall and door opposite the stairs...do you need to keep that wall? i've left a small section of wall at the end of the island if you need to keep a supporting post if you like the idea of the shower in the bathroom i need to know the exact space available in the rooms between kitchen and lounge but i've added a tiny bathroom for minimum sizes needed and the dotted lines show where walls have been removed the island is already very generous and plenty of room for stools along one side plus the enlarged area between the island and the outside wall to the deck is big enough for a full size table what goes in the pantry depends on what you want to use it for...some people use the pantry for using appliances, some use the pantry only for storage but think about your existing kitchen and what you like and don't like, how many adults and small children will live in the house, do you entertain large groups, do you like formal or informal meals, do you like to cook and bake, do you store lots of cans or packets, need a big fridge and/or freezer, coffee maker etc ...once the basic layout of the kitchen is decided there should be enough space to include most things you want...i notice you added an extra sink in the pantry...what's that for?...See Moreupdate kitchen and pull down a wall
Comments (20)i think Kate's suggestion of the island parallel to the window fits better within the limited space as there isn't enough walkway all around with the island the other way around..i've included a 90cm x 1800 island which should allow for 45 deep drawers along both sides as attempting knee space and stools risks blocking the critical walkway through the dining room ..there should be enough space to move the fridge into the kitchen space and include a stacked wall and steam oven with appliances in the corner base cabinets NB the 1050 x 900 corner base cabinet allows for 45cm + 30cm bifold door that allows easy access into the deep base cabinet for big appliances .. there's wall cabinets and maybe a wall mounted MW cabinet but the direction of MW door opening will decide best location and if possible a MW stacked with the wall and steam oven would be a better use of available space and consider open shelves across the kitchen window to create a back splash window affect with open shelves for display and use the old fridge space and the rebuilt cabinet at the end of the pwdr room for pantry storage and, while you have a plumber employed, would be an excellent opportunity to install a tiny sink in the powder room...See Moreupdated kitchen
Comments (17)Daphnemaria, the cost was $12,000.00. That was for the veneering of the benchtops and splashback. I have a large kitchen and I had been given an estimate of an entire kitchen replacement, with polyurethane cupboards and engineered stone benchtops, of $38,000.00, not including stove and sink. As it was, I kept my existing stove and sink, but had I opted for an entirely new kitchen, I would have had to replace them, which would have added another $5,000-10,000 I suspect. So for my purposes, I think it was a reasonable cost, only took three days, with virtually no mess or disruption....See More2 FIND and DESIGN
