Wish i found this Q &A before. So many beautiful people advising and sharing here! I am Repainting Tropical Queenslander with dark red and orangy timber floors and this thread is so helpful. I painted Whisper white and it is throwing so much Green it makes me so sad I am going to repaint. I get loads of tropical sun in the north facing - with eastern morning sunlight. Was just about to go and buy Natural White just to cover it. Do you think it will be too dull/warm a colour. I do like a fresh feel and contrasting with vivid white decorative trims. The whisper white looks nice For a while in the morning while the morning sunlight throws read up onto it but then it returns to a green

Appreciate all the feedback, thanks everyone! Yes caesarstone is what our builder includes. Its the statuario nuvo (marble look) caesarstone that I would have loved but after finding out it would be about $4k-$5k more than the 'snow' caesarstone pictured above we realised that wasn't an option for us unfortunately. We are building so I guess we're a bit limited by the companies our builder uses. The cabinetry is polytec melamine range (riga salt pictured above). They do have shaker style cabinets in their thermo laminated range but were told it would cost quite a lot more. Will have to ask for a more specific quote and see just how much extra it will be. Ultimately if budget weren't a factor I would do timber look flooring, marble bench tops, marble or white subway splashback, and white shaker style cabinets. So I guess I'll just have to try and get as close as I can to that look with our budget.

Are you talking about the wall that is currently white? I'd leave it. Once you have everything including yourselves in the room it won't feel boring. You can add art, as suggested, as you find it. Plain spaces are needed in rooms to allow your eyes to rest and for the other features to be, well, features.

Hello Webuser The kitchen in the photo looks really special. It all depends on the finished appearance you are after - this suggestion is for a 'natural' 'relaxed' look - Add green - a greyed, muted shade like Porters Amazon. Dulux Mangrove Leaf is good too, but maybe too strong - 1/4 strength?? Then you could add bursts of yellow and lots of indoor plants!! Lots of natural textures would complete - sisal rug, cane baskets - to MY taste!! Have fun with your new kitchen.
