What is the best white or near white paint for rooms which are dark?
Comments (15)@courton, I've been in a quandry since purchasing a sample pot of Lexicon as it was visibly blue although not so much in the quarter strength, but I too want a warm colour and not a cool colour. I have a sample of Dulux Light Rice quarter possibly for the walls and Dulux Natural White for the roof but I'm still not sure. I wanted to stick to brown tones as that is what seems to catch my eye and Light Rice is the lightest colour in the dulux colour wall in the browns and the Natural White simply tones in with it and no other reason. Will still have to wait till I can paint up a sample but I previously tried Stucco and Harbour Stone and both were a bit too caramely for me and too coloured if that makes sense, even though I have seen Stucco in a bedroom and kitchen and it looked great but just isn't working for me now that I've tried it myself. Interesting how you can see a colour in someone else's home and it looks great but when you try it yourself, you hate it!!! I have allot of windows and door ways and very little wall area and I don't want a jigsaw effect of colour running around these areas and be jumping out at me when I walk into the home, instead I want to have to look for the walls and barely see colour....See MoreVOTE: IKEA savedal or bodbyn with Caesarstone London Grey?
Comments (18)I love the style of IKEA cabinets, but do wish they had more colours, it's a pity we can't access the IKEA custom door companies in Australia like semihandmade! Do you want white? There is the option of the grey LERHYTTAN which is midway in style between bodbyn and savedal?...See MoreIkea kitchen quandry
Comments (12)Thanks everyone! It seems that Ikea supported until June 2017- what a shame my renovation bug had not hit then! Or that they contacted their customers.... Anyway looks as if the major difference is internal fixation so it may not be grossly dramatic but certainly more expensive than buying a drawer unit and a new benchtop. I liked the idea of just putting baskets in - I had a hankering though for 80cm drawers to hold things as you often see in the Houzz featured kitchens. Never to mind....See MoreKitchen layout quandry
Comments (5)Sink in island is ok, depends on how clean you keep it and how you intend on using the island. Kids do homework at the island isn't ideal with water being splashed about.... Corner pantry is ok but everyone of my clients that has had one in the past say they loose too many items hidden in the far corners.... One of my clients has a pantry same location as your builder has drawn except it goes all the way past the appliance cupboard. It uses a sliding door and have the often used appliances directly in front of you as you slide open door. The lesser used appliance located where your appliance cupboard is now. The remaining space is for food storage. Have a chat with kitchen designer, hers was hesitant at first as they'd never seen this before.... now they have used it on other kitchens.........See MoreCaesarstone Australia
