Black doors vs White doors

Have you ever thought of painting your doors black?
It’s one of those subtle little changes that can make a huge impact.
I have never painted all my doors black, but the more I see it, the more I like it.
How about you? Would you consider painting your doors black?

I did revamp my front door in a Haymes paint colour called Enigma. Not quite black. It was a rusty red stain before which was wearing off and looking ratty.

This is sort of what I am trying to achieve - white timber windows ( double hung with no bars in them though) and black feature doors. My living floor plan is attached. The doors in question will open from the dining to the alfresco areas. Are black sliders here too much / do they match the white wooden windows everywhere else? Thanks

i second black, one of our clients mixed black handles with silver taps and it worked, it will definitely work with brass features as well. the black wont fade if cleaned with the appropriate products, just choose a matte finish with low grains

Hi again. Much as love black woodwork (I had all the woodwork in a luxe apartment project painted black for a dramatic feel!) if you are planning to keep the decor the same, I still dont think that painting those french doors black will do the space any favours. By all means paint them white like your windows and then the proximity to the kitchen tiling will not be so obvious:)

I am about to start some alterations and the front door is currently dark violet purple but soon to be black. I will however be retaining the natural rimu on the inside even though my kitchen walls are dark charcoal currently. I like them so much the new kitchen will have the same coloured walls. The new sliding windows in the kitchen have a pine frame so won't match the rest. I am going to paint it dark charcoal too, with the cedar sliders and rimu finishing.

Painted mine black from an original wood front and advised several clients to do the same. Always looks smarter and looks fresh as it doesn't show up the everyday marks and dirt.
