Comments (7)This is a question I face almost every time I talk with a customer when quoting a Bathroom renovation. You should always take to opportunity when renovating a bathroom to add ventilation into the design along with heating as in the form a underfloor heating of heat lights this healps with area's that would normally stay wet and reduce the problems of grout getting mould. As for selecting the right size tile this is really a personal choice there are lots and lots of options to pick from when selecting tiles. I always as what look are you going for? fine the look you like and study bathroom designs and take note of the size of tiles tou see in photos make a scrape book of idea's copy ideas pick the best bits. Small tiles can look great on a feature wall but to much of it can make a room fill closed in and to busy on the eye once you have added all your other fixtures and fittings to the mix. 300 x 600 tiles are the far most come tiles we lay where 600 x 600 are great for a modern look. 600 x 600 look great on a floor with 300 x 600 on the walls but I wouldnt suggest having three different tile sizes stick to the same or 2 different styles. it is a hard choice but go with what makes you feel comfortable and scrapbooking idea's is the best place to start. best of luck...See MoreBathroom tiles - run floor tiles up one or all walls in shower?
Comments (8)It can either look really dramatic or too dark, depending on the size of the room as well as your other components. I've attached a couple of images of our work using dark tiles, the smaller bathroom we have surrounded the bath with dark tiles but then balance it with an extra large mirror to bounce the light around the room. The larger bathroom we have taken the floor colour way onto the wall but used a different texture on the walls for drama. Hopefully this gives you more of an idea but you shouldn't to nervous of the room being dark, it's where you can create a contrast as well as textures. Look forward to seeing what you go with in the end....See MoreHelp me decide on my bathroom tile
Comments (27)Hi creativelychallenged, I'm pretty sure all the tiles are faux-marble from Beaumont Tiles. I've used them in bathrooms and they are cost-effective (from $40sqm un-laid) and look beautiful. Marble and now faux-marble is a classic look so not prone to dating. You may have noticed its recent popularity due to the faux-marble now available as the average homeowner may not have the budget for real marble. People worry about decor 'dating' - think about what you love, what will make you happy to live with - decor doesn't last forever because our own tastes change and decor can suffer from wear and tear. Choose what you LOVE and you can't go wrong :-)...See More- 8 years ago
