How2girl what are you doing for your splashback? I think I need to go look at the Michelangelo again tomorrow, what colour will you be doing your cabinets? I like the colours in the QQ almost some blue in amongst the grey browns

I just went to the factory today and we have gone with the Caesarstone Statuario Nuvo based on the desire to go for 'less pattern' and more natural stone look. The Quantum Quarts Staturio would have actually been the perfect one for me based on the desire for a cleaner white like the Michelangelo but with a less patterned look and more like the Nuvo in pattern. The Quantum Quartz Starurio was 4k more expensive than the Michelangelo and the Ceasarstone Nuvo I think ill just have to live with a creamier benchtop!

how2girl charcoal or deep blue will look amazing!! Deep blue would be my favourite and on trend however suspect that charcoal will stand the tests of time better by never going out of style. I will do a charcoal on one side of my breakfast bar, unfortunately because my kitchen is a U shape doing all of it will look funny.

Good decision. I found seeing the larger slabs helped so much in my decision. Given the cost of it you want to get it right.

Have you had a look at Smartstone? Our stone mason suggested them, said he is installing these faux marbles all day, everyday at the moment...Smartstone looks less fake and the veining isn't as repeated apparently. We are looking at a Carrara-look so doesn't matter as much as Calcutta's but we were still after a product that looked as real as possible.

Yes frosty Carrina was on the top list and I had it quoted before I saw a full slab in the showroom. Its also beautiful but a bit busy with repeated pattern for me. My Island will now be 3000 x 900 because of the size I didn't want a repeated pattern.

Zaffa I guess its a more modern look and probably lots of cleaning, Ive been living with hidious green tiles for 8 years so looking for something different.

I've had glass. Won't be having it again. I found it hard to clean from the perspective of the streaking. I can't imagine what mirror would be like. I'll be going back to tile but with a dark grout. I will also seal the grout. Having done this before in new bathrooms, it works a treat to reduce the 'grab-iness' of grout. I'm using tile to also add texture if that makes sense.

If you look at Frosty Carrina close up it has that classic caesarstone 'grit'. If you don't mind that, it would be ok. But it's a dead give away that it isn't natural stone IMO.
