Has anyone seen an awning window without the chain winder?

Comments (2)Thank you My Beautiful Abode for your comment. The blind installer informed us that the blinds can't be released from their brackets and that once installed, a blind and it's bracket has to be removed as a unit. However, the window manufacturer demonstrated to us how the screens can be manipulated in sideways and then forced into position. Each time this procedure is carried out the window frames and fly screen frames are prone to damage. We don't believe that the present bracket design "is fit for purpose" and would not have purchased from this manufacturer of blinds had we been aware, or advised, that the blinds could not be released from the brackets....See Moresecurity and flyscreen solutions for casement and awning/hinged window
Comments (0)Hoping someone can help. We have just bought a charming little 1959's house that has a number of casement and awning/hinged windows. Being QLD, it's too hot to keep the house closed of a day and we are wanting to enjoy the sea breezes without the mosquitos. Has anyone installed and can recommend a security or flyscreen solution? I have seen the magnetic flyscreens available but I'm wanting something that looks good without losing the charm of the windows....See Morelocking Awning window open - non retractable
Comments (4)I have just checked my awning window, and correct you can't lock it to a certain point of opening. It can only be locked at closed. Could you get a metal brace made, with rubber surrounds, to be attached to either the sill or window frame. Attached with brackets so it can be removed if window needs to be closed completely. Just trying to think outside the norm. You could just use a couple of bits of wood, but a metal brace may look more professional....See MoreLuke Buckle
