Need a new wall colour
Comments (12)Find your paint colour through an inspiration point - whether that be a new toss cushion or a painting - pull a colour from that inspiration point. I DO NOT recommend giving paint advice online - there are way too many variables. Once you have your inspiration point, take that to the paint store and pull the unexpected colour out of it - to show you just how many variables there are - I've attached the exact same room with completely different furnishings and accessories - the walls are all WHITE - you need to find your inspiration piece - then build from there - good luck!...See MoreJoinery colour
Comments (9)I'm not sure where you're from but I'm guessing the UK? I'm having to translate some of your terminology which is unfamiliar to me. We all speak English but definitely different localities have their own words to describe these things. If you don't want to make a feature of your joinery (which I figure is your baseboards and your window and door trim) then yes I'd paint them out in the wall colour. Satin is a good choice not so much for reflecting light, but because a shinier finish is more durable than a matte one, and these areas need to be resilient. Your new place sounds wonderful. Best of luck on your renovation....See More'Kinship' Kitchen style & lighting help!
Comments (18)Thanks annb1997. I'm looking into the swag/rope style pendant lights! The splashback tiles are acually a shade of brown, the wall paint brown, the floors and cabinets cream and grey ( I hate this combo) which extend unfortunately into the living area as well (but not into the rest of the house). I have thoughts to re-laminate the cabinets in white, leave the bench top black, change the splashback to something (they are actually cheapo bathroom tiles and not actual splashback) and figure out placement - the tiles currently don't blend in well and extend past the cabinet and like a step down to the cabinet bench. I'd love to replace the grey and cream floor tiles with wood floorboards or wood-look tiles. Not sure how expensive this would be or if this should be done first or at a later date. I should also note the door you see in the first photo is a big walk-in-pantry....See MoreKitchen splash back advice
Comments (3)Sorry didn't finish my post, but I think the marble would work the best...See Morephilippawright
