People keep using green subway tiles. WHY!
Comments (10)The vintage green tiles in the first picture are lovely. The darker ones below with the bevelled edges are just so wrong in the setting shown. I am also a lover of green but you have to get the right tone and keep the shape as smooth and flat as possible. I am a big believer in having just one standout element of design in a tile - either its unusual in shape with a matt finish or a special colour with no fussy edges....See MoreHELP! Comments (27)I'm keeping the chairs original as they are pure wool. Yes, I'm thinking lighter floors and I will either paint the book shelves in the Island bench white or charcoal (see third picture) I'm thinking some open shelves in light wood and timber lights too. Comments (7)Thanks everyone for your comments and advice. Wuff, the handles were in the kitchen when we bought it. They have the exact handles in 'Early Settler'. We are changing the timber bench because we think it looks country and we want a change. The timber is very strong and durable. Very good quality but we simply don't like the colour. I was looking for someone to stain it darker and I would have kept it but can't find anyone. No water marks or had any issues with it. I we thought we would have to be careful with timber but it is honestly a good product. I would definitely recommend timber benches for anyone wanting that look :) good luck...See MoreHelp help help! Comments (27)I think if you replace front door and glass panels as well as the old fashioned lights with something more contemporary it will make a huge improvement. I'd also remove the ironwork and as you cannot re-glaze place some pots and plants on the sides of the large windows to draw the eye away from all the green cross pieces on the windows. Eventually paint the gutters fascia in a light grey/green....See MoreDebbie Daly -Sophistication in Design Ltd.
