Starting Open Plan Living Room
I have purchased a 3 seater and 2.5 seater in my favorite color to start my room in new flat. The curves will look wonderful with my curved windows and the colour will emphasize my blue views. The dimensions are perfect, just 8400 deep. In the advertisement you can see how bad 2 overstuffed couches of previous occupants look. As the sofas are very heavy Australian made with leather I want them placed correctly by the delivery company. I plan to put a feature colour and tv on the white wall at right angles to the view, to give balance to white kitchen wall. Would you put the big sofa to face future tv or to face view? Do I stick with neutrals for the rest of my furniture? Would the new Dulux Denim Haze blue be too overdone on the feature wall? As I have very young grandchildren should I add a rug to the pale biscuit carpet? And if so, what colour? At present I am concerned that the sofas don't have to be dragged around a lot. I am going for contemporary sleek but fun look.

Comments (12)If the roof in the sunroom is also flat on the exterior part of the roof then perhaps put triangular windows in the top part of the wall that would look straight outside and then keep the sunroom ceiling flat. Comments (4)Removing the walls as you've suggested should be ok as long as you check will an engineer first. They may be load bearing. This isn't a major issue to remove them as builders do this type of work regularly but definitely seek professional structural engineering advice first. Privacy to entry will be affected but not too bad. I'd do a furniture layout first and foremost to see if it the rooms will work being so open plan (i.e. noisy perhaps, where to put lounges and dining tables, etc.). People like open plan to look at but they are noisy in many cases as even talking noise travels. 7 years agolast modified: 7 years agoAs suggested above I wouldn't do a feature wall in paint colour but rather an art work. You can do a textured one like metal or woven fibres or a painting.
