I like both! Ha sorry, I'm not helping. I'm leaning towards the black in the first demo, that would take you to a more industrial theme. I can see how white works too if you want Hamptons-look.

White. And I'd paint those black metal (?) bits on the timber beams white as well (if that's possible).

I would recommend the white one. Especially if you are thinking of a beach Hamptons style. The black is too strong for this look and more suited to a more architectural style. It's also competing with the exposed beam detail in the ceiling. Love to see some pics when you are finished. Cheers

I'd go for white, especially if there is not going to be much other black in the room. Lovely room.

white looks great. the black stands out for the wrong reasons. and i agree with haephetus on painting the black bits white also.

I think the black is more Scandi inspired, where as the white is definitely Hamptons- up to you!

what about white for the low ceilings and black for the high ceilings where the contrast will stand out against the gorgeous timber beams OR what about white for the low ceilings and timber for the high ceilings to blend and not detract from the beams OR why not please my husband and try his choice of silver!

I'd go with the black. when you use black it has a way of disappearing, so you won't notice it as much. I just put one in our guest bedroom, it looks great.

I vote for black as well, looks classy

White for sure, the room is beautiful but if you are keeping the exposed beams you could get a wood effect fan,perhaps.
