I'm confused by those pendant lights?

I'll hazard a guess as to why macymacmaples is confused about the pendant lights.

a) they are very close to two walls. Depending on what they're made from that could be problematic if they are knocked, which is most likely to happen while leaning forward to flush or could easily be just a general cleaning the walls knock.

b) they are at head height directly above a toilet.

Clearly the pendants are more of a design statement than anything else unless you read on the loo and I can't see a magazine rack there :0

Aside from the pendants, I do like the space. The wood works really well to warm it up, and I like both the shape and the use of tonal changes in the floor tiles.

Beautiful bathroom! I too love the tiles (colour, shape) teamed with the warm timber. I believe the lovely pendants are in no danger of being bumped into as they are close to the wall and seem to be situated at a decent height. I think it's a perspective thing due to how the photos were shot. Well done transformation!

Lovely transformation, but yeh I think the lighting appears to to be a design feature not pracitical. Would love to have seen lights in vanity area which would make more sense. Tiles & vanity are gorgeous, I wouldn't mind that bathroom in my house. Well done :-)

Seems to be poor provision of task lighting for people using the set-back mirrors above vanities, especially in the area farther from window. I'm thinking fine tasks: eye care, make-up, shaving. It's a common problem in public building bathrooms: lighting at basins and mirrors so lacking or thoughtlessly positioned that it's hard for a user to fix hair, check grooming and so on. Was a lighting designer consulted for this Moonee Ponds job? Can someone offer advice about where to position vanity lighting?

Love all the colours. How long is that toilet. I think the lights would have been better of over the basin....
