Thank you . Just needed a confirmation I wasn't off the rails . White and very pale grey were in my sights. Will do white cabinetry and the tile will be a veined white background for walls and floor. Hopefully in 6mths time I can post the fruit of this collaboration.

a simple retile, new vanity, shower and toilet will be at least $10,000 with very careful choices but anything that involves a leaking upstairs bathroom is a much bigger issue so first priority is to ask a plumber to try and identify the problem and then make plans that start from fixing the leak before any more damage is done...if there's a problem that needs the whole bathroom to be stripped out and relined, pipes repaired. new waterproofing and refinishing as well as repairs to downstairs walls and ceilings expect a much bigger price and rearranging the wiw wall could be done at the same time (btw when the plumber identifies the reason for the leak there may be some insurance claim)

Think of recessing the Mirrored shaving cabinets as being recessed the same as the Niches in the shower wall, simply they remove/cut out the plaster board to the size/position and shape and frame that up with timber. The plaster board on the back of the recess belongs to the room behind and is the wall for that room, so makes no difference to your WIR. Just a thought if you go for the recessed wall cistern, when my brother inlaw did theirs the Architect suggested that they have a discreet panel screwed back over it, not fixed and plastered so that if any problems developed, Leaks etc it would be easy to access cheers

what a great house and make sure you salvage those fabulous plants near the front door...these new plans rotate the bathroom but you'll notice that the difference in size in this direction and the view from the main hallway is why i didn't include them in my original suggestion and means that the vanities will have to be smaller and the doors open against the only towel hanging space so could be better to use cavity sliders again which is a challenge with plumbing in those walls i've also included new windows as teh single windows will be a problem with the new internal walls ...the original vanity cabinets were two x 1200 wide, the showers 900 deep x width of the room and bath 750 x the width of the room..but studying the whole house plans it's difficult to understand teh correction dimensions of the original kitchen...is the measurement 3.65m x 3.65 or 3800 x 4000 and is the 4m allong the length or across the width of the building?? btw i have to suggest (having recently completed a major renovation on a 1952 home with similar colourful old renovations) that most of the plumbing and wiring needed to be replaced and this is the best opportunity to make improvements and i suggest that you plan the whole house renovation even if you prefer to do the work in sections eg is the old kitchen the best place for the new ensuites?? but you need to double check the dimensions on the plans as they're not consistent and even a few cms can make a difference to options...will look forward to your ideas for the rest of the house
