Bathroom Feature Wall with same tiles as floor tiles???
Hi everyone, Would appreciate your thoughts on our tiling dilemma :) We have a very small ensuite and a normal sized main bathroom we're renovating. Originally we were thinking all 4 walls in white tiles. But recently started thinking of maybe doing a feature wall with the same tiles as the floor(but 30 x 60 on wall as opposed to 30 x 30 on the floor). Not 100% sure if this would look good or if we should just keep it simple without the feature wall. Your feedback would be really appreciated. I've added a picture to show you the colour scheme and style of bathroom we're looking to achieve. Simple but modern. Below links to the tiles we are thinking of using. Comments (13)Sorry but I fail to see the relevance or relationship of this tile to the rest of what is going on. The stained glass window is a strong feature and there appears to be no relationship or relevance to this. It is so close and yet so far away from the main wall tile it looks like a tonal mistake. If it is a Kids bathroom I fail to see what age group of kids would find this attractive or exciting? I must be missing something here? Every individual element needs to have a reason for being there for the whole space to work. Very often individual elements look great on their own bot look a shambles in the wrong mix so unless there is a good reason for this choice from a design perspective it it may end up being a good element in the wrong place. Comments (8)It can either look really dramatic or too dark, depending on the size of the room as well as your other components. I've attached a couple of images of our work using dark tiles, the smaller bathroom we have surrounded the bath with dark tiles but then balance it with an extra large mirror to bounce the light around the room. The larger bathroom we have taken the floor colour way onto the wall but used a different texture on the walls for drama. Hopefully this gives you more of an idea but you shouldn't to nervous of the room being dark, it's where you can create a contrast as well as textures. 9 years agoHere's two exmples of your idea working, but note the floor tiles are dark. That might be the key.

8 years ago- 8 years agoI know it’s not a bathroom but I used the floor tiles as a backsplash for the bbq.
Really like it.
As you can see by the photo you get different lighting so it will give a nice subtle change.
Also you mentioned changing the tile size for the wall, I wouldn’t do that, mine are just the floor tiles going up the wall.
Keep it simple, that’s why it works.
