Need ideas for small kitchen, dining, living room area at snow
Comments (6)Thank you Tilda :) So we have an artist called Geoff Winckle, he paints beautiful landscapes and has some pieces which have an alpine feel. I have have attached one called 'Afternoon Snowscape'. I think the warm tones in this piece would complement the cooler tone it sounds like you have chosen for your walls. I've also included 'Sunset over Rocks-Mt Wellington, Tasmania' by Jacqui Cleijne. As far as deer go I have attached a piece called 'The Messanger' by our new featured artist Jason Moad....See MoreFurniture placement for small, narrow living room.
Comments (16)I love your fireplace. I would not alter it. The door and the floorboards draw your eye straight to the fireplace. I wouod definitely alter the light fittings. I would have the tv on the dining room wall to the right of the arches. I wouod have one lounge on the window wall opposite the tv and a chair in the corner if there is enough room. I would have an eyecatching wing back chair to the left of the fireplace opposite the dining room and white lacy soft curtains softening the window wall. To the left of the fireplace near the dining room arch you could add some interesting decorating piece. I would concentrate on making the fireplace wall the focal point of the room and the tv corner a secondary focal point that is soft and relaxing. You could trow down a couple of beautiful, thick, soft floor mats to soften the brick and provide a texture contrast. Overall, I love the room, it has character and strength, its not boring and mundane. Good luck! I hope you find something that suits both you and hubby...See MoreNeed advice! Comments (9)That's a beautiful sunny room. You could put in a chase lounge where you have the lounge currently. This can accommodate quite a number of people. Add a couple of swivel chairs near the glassed area so they can move around to be included in the living room and also capture the garden view. (See photo). Putting in a second, heavy set lounge against the glass will make your living room look smaller and cluttered. The chairs allow light to filter through. Adding a rug will warm the room and tie all the pieces of furniture together. If you go fairly light, it will make the room look bigger (try a little pattern so you dont see too much dirt). You could wall mount the television and this will also make the room look larger. Sorry, that's my two bobs worth. Hope it helps!...See MoreLayout and storage advice - small kitchen/dining/living area
Comments (4)The part of the home that you have shown, does not appear small. Room sizes are good. The problem is the kitchen in a thoroughfare, but it has plenty of storage. And the wall between sunroom and living. i would seriously look at removing the wall between sunroom and living, check with a structural engineeR. You said you do not want to remove walls, but this is the only way you can increase the size of that room. Maybe keep a supporting post in the middle, and work your furniture around it. Then install of full wall of storage on the dining/laundry wall....See Moreoklouise
