Hi bigreader....sorry the only picture I managed to post originally wasn't that clear. Yes hogs bristle half does tie in pretty well, its a very light creamy brown colour....I've attached more photos showing all the colours of everything. All the choices we've made are kinda copied of the Metricon, Lincoln house so we do know they all work well together - only issue is we can't/don't want to do wooden windows as done in the display home, as we live in the hills in SA so they will be getting very exposed to the elements- so not a good option, hence the issue with choosing the window colour frame as we're not sure if we should try and make them a stand out even though their just cheap aluminum ones or if we should blend them in to the wall colour. So your thoughts are appreciated...

Hi Russ, what a great house. I’d leave the windows white as was typical of the era. It gives these triple fronted houses a lightness that would be lost if you painted them in something dark like monument. It would also look like you are trying to turn the house into something that it’s not. Far better to embrace and honour the original design intent than trying to make it look contemporary as it will end up looking confusing. I’d paint the eaves and the garage door though. The cream colour is jarring. Then concentrate on landscaping. That will make a huge difference and make this house really shine.

Hi I am getting double glazed windows and new aluminium front door and desperately need advice on the colour . I can’t have anodised aluminium silver for windows like they are already because the company doesn’t do them anymore. They will much thicker and stand out more Choices are light gray or cream. Had maybe front door in white . Any advice would be greatful . Also how do I reply to comments please?

I am planning an update for the large kitchen/dining/family area and new paint and floorcoverings throughout my late 1980's house. Looking for advice please on which white to paint my walls and doors to work to best advantage with: - doeskin (mustardy yellowish ) colour aluminium windows/sliding doors (painting window frames is beyond my budget) - jarrah (redddish brown) wood frames to main room doors in living area (thinking of changing these from stained to shiny wood finish) - a few special (handmade by hubby) jarrah furniture pieces to mix in with new styling. -woodgrained pattern vinyl tiles or bamboo flooring - new kitchen - probably simple white kitchen handleless cupboards (something that doesn't date too much) and a light speckled stone benchtop (room has low natural light) Was thinking of pale walls not to compete with yellow of windows or dark door frames and using splashes of greens in plants and accessories, gold and limited black, But maybe this is all wrong. Help please! What do you think? Some paint colours that may be possiblities among others are: Dulux: Natural White, Antique White USA. White Duck 1/8th, British Paints: White Beam Taubmans: Milk Cloud, Cradle White.
