How to furnish a small oblong kitchen/dining/living space
Comments (1)I would pop a buffet along the window by the front door & then a rectangle dining table in front of that. There are a few layouts you could do tv/ lounge wise but in the interest of entertaining & also watching tv whilst preparing meals.... I would put the tv on the wall opposite the built in cupboards - not right where the aerial point is though, closer along the wall towards the bedroom door. Then I'd have an L shape configuration of lounges (either a corner lounge or two lounges) with the back of one along the side wall (the wall you look at as you come in the front door), & the other with its back to the built in cupboards (obviously with enough room to open the doors behind it still. Then define the area with a rug etc...See MoreFreestanding bath in a small space? Yes or no
Comments (19)Hi guys We love both! A common misconception we've found with freestanding baths and spas is that they're simply be too heavy to move around for cleaning purposes. To make cleaning manageable, our 100% Australian made baths and spas are manufactured using Gelcoat composite construction which is extremely strong yet not overly heavy (5mm thickness to ensure structural rigidity and increased thermal properties). So one of our baths is typically around the 40-50kg mark which allows most people to easily slide the bath out from the wall for easy cleaning access. Freestanding stone baths are a different story altogether! Regards, Brad AQVA Luxury Baths & Spas...See MoreSmall courtyard ideas
Comments (17)I would create a tall wall of privacy along your back fence, perhaps by running a line of potted pencil pines, magnolia, or similar classic screening plant you might like. The pots become the feature then, with a line of trees giving nice symmetry and greenery there, while not detracting from your lovely paving which is a feature in itself (infact, the eye will run along this paving to that back fence, so I don't think the back fence should be too busy). Your retaining wall could become your feature garden ie. you could cap it and then hang here your existing plants, a mirror, maybe even just a simple sculpture or fountain against that wall depending on your taste. What is your taste Jannie, as perhaps Houzzers can give more specific suggestions if you nominate whether you prefer traditional, contemporary or minimalist outdoor rooms/gardens?...See MoreSmall Space - Courtyard
