Comments (13)Hi Megan, I think all the comments have been very constructive and positive. I looked at your photos very carefully and my eye was being confused by the white walls and the beige/caramel carpet. I think your modular lounge is beautiful and your choice of furniture is good. The coffee table could be exchanged perhaps for a more organic shape, and a glass top table opens up a space also. Another choice of coffee table would be using the lounge ottoman with a large tray to hold cups and magazines. Have you considered moving the lounge off the wall if there is the space? I definitely would love to see a large rug and a large artwork for the wall, however there seems to be a lot of light hitting that wall and I wondered about fading (of the lounge, over time and of the artwork) so what are your window coverings? Before you commit to colors etc., find some pieces of fabric (could even be tablecloths, sheets or clothes) in different colors, throw on the lounge (one color at a time) and take a photo - you will soon be able to tell which colors work best for you. Same goes for the floor - simple but effective when rugs and cushions are not often cheap. You will have so much fun deciding and whatever you decide will be just fine because you have to love the home you are in! Good luck with everything Di....See MoreWhat does your kitchen need most?
Comments (3)Like many people these days, we are a gadget family. They would have a lot more use if they were lined up behind the workbench attached to electrical outlets. The chore of getting them out of drawers and setting them up to use is definitely one of my least favourite tasks in the kitchen. We're now thinking of having the upstand part of the wall overlooking the family room removed and extending the depth of the benchtop to have them all lined up ready to use every day. Now our only problem is finding someone to do this work. Most kitchen companies want to only do the whole kitchen, and aren't interested in anything less, so make their quotes far too high for the work we need done, and even suggest that we replace the whole kitchen which is only 3 years old....See Moredecorating needs an update
Comments (8)what great looking rooms and love Dad's sideboard... try swapping the lounge with the two chairs..the lounge looks too squeezed into that space and a bigger coffee table in front of the lounges with one of Julies' suggested lighter coloured textured rugs and could the mirror be relocated on a wall opposite the window and have an artwork or wall hanging similar to the gorgeous Klimpt that would add some colour that could be highlighted with cushions...See MoreKeep wall bare vs not
Comments (13)Thanks for all the comments and suggestions everyone :) Regarding the walkway between kitchen island and that wall, there is 1.35mtr of space so not too bad if mirror went there or if plant was moved to the other side. Will consider some options. Re the question about sitting area & tv, it’s a 5.5/6mtr wide room and to not cramp the space we have the sofa against back wall and tv against the opposing wall, with all that space in between. Sure it could be closer but then cramps up the open feel (and with opening bi fold doors it’s nice to have all that area open / flowing to deck & yard)....See MoreYorkshire Fabric Shop
