Hopefully the doorway/walks are offset so that there isn't a direct line of sight from double doors through to toilet... Is there space at the foot of the bed for a small seating area? Lots of pics with this set up can be found on houzz to give you ideas. I would be inclined to move the bed towards the front windows and have a sitting area as the focus of anyone passing by.

I did get a guy out to give me a quote on cleaning and painting the roof. He said he will have to quote it using scaffolding because of the steep roof. That was a couple of weeks ago, but haven't heard back from him yet. I have seen some bad paint jobs of terracotta tiles so am a bit nervous about getting it painted. I wouldn't mind if my tiles were just slightly darker like yours rather than orange, but I do know that the darker they are, the more they will hold heat and Brisbane is hot.

The white provides a beautiful canvas for landscaping, especially if you go for a particular theme, eg dramatic, sculptural, Japanese or what ever takes your fantasy. Think about the plants, and select trim colours that either compliment or add to the canvas. I would talk to your designer and see what is in mind. What is goal of the shape, Dutch colonial? It looks like a South African Dutch Colonial in its base shape. You are seeking landscaping that heroes the shape eg in Japanese design the white exterior has trims in black or wood and landscaping the soften and draws the eyes to the line of the building.

my concern was the dog might scratch the flimsier bunnings options not the one for $1000 which is quite a bit sturdier. we own a dobermann (the popularity of which also went out in the 80's after magnum p.i. but not necessarily a negative) another trendier option would be a barn door that slides across but you need the wall space for it to sit when open, or a cavity sliding door. neither of these options were suitable due to not enough wall space, and double brick internal walls. concertina doors certainly are a suitable option for some spaces even if considered dated. they work and can be removed easily to restore the opening if need be. I'm happy to be living in the 80's, life was way simpler then and takes me back to my childhood which makes me smile.
