if your DA is already approved for a concrete slab that size i would first check with whoever approved your DA to ask if you need to apply for an amendment and then research the fibre cement...good luck with your choice

I agree with MB Design. I would be surprised if a timber framed deck with thick FC sheeting would be much cheaper that a concrete slab.

thank you MB Design and Gallifrey for the information. That surprises me but there you go, not done this before nor a professional. Discussing with the builder tomorrow.

Stewby4 it will be a new deck with roof that will be built. Will fibre cement still be cheaper or much the same as the cost to concrete it?

I'm currently doing plan's for a BALFZ balcony and one builder has said he can do the concrete cheaper than if on bearers and joist's with FC sheet....

I checked with the builder and he agreed that the cost of the concrete would be about the same for the FC sheet once you factor in additional prep required for the FC.

Every time I have thought of an option that I was sure would save money, it ended up costing more!
