Need ideas for Under Stairs Storage space

Hi all, would like to convert the under stairs space to usable storage. It has a depth around 100cm.
How best to create the space, should I just have a closed door or draws, shelves... thoughts please.

Comments (11)I really like the storage ideas, suggested here; as we ha d a small flat, which had a built-in storage area under the stairs. Looked good and was very useful and practical. If you don't need a storage, I can imagine a cosy reading corner; a comfy sofa, where you can either sit or lie down, scatter cushions...if enough space, you can put a bookshelf behind the sofa. Comments (1)Hi Michelle, I will just presume that this is an interior staircase - of which there are multiple options to build out with shelving, wine racks, or conceal into hidden storage. Comments (3)everything you've suggested sounds ideal and you will only need to build a frame underneath the stairs to create a wall to the side of the steps and directly under the top step to allow for a door and cover with the same wall lining and either add an electric or battery operated light under the stairs and shelving to suit what you want to store...See MoreDavid
