Custom Orb looks great. But.....your flashings and trims can cost a lot of money and labour to finish well. If you use it in a few select areas that need little or no flashings then it works better. It becomes even more of a 'cool' feature then as well. Installing it vertical rather than horizontal could be much easier to install as well. We cladded our house in it about 7 years ago. While it looks great I probably wouldn't do it again due to the cost (and mucking around..) and also the fact that a change of colour isn't a paint brush away...... My preference would be FC sheet with battens over the joins, a bit of Custom Orb in a few selected areas that are hard to maintain/paint/etc and good old face brick. Recycled bricks rather than new would be a nice feature as well. Face brick needs little maintenance and doesn't damage easily from kids running into with bikes, etc..

Either tiles or colorbond (custom orb/corrugated/etc.) as both have good points and bad points. Aesthetics and price in most cases is what is comes down to at the end of the day. Tiles are good as they have a long lifespan if looked after. Terracotta in particular is a good choice depending on colour, house design, etc.. Tiles do look really good on the right house. But they are heavy and many roof structures are sagging under the weight if not constructed strong enough. They also hold the heat in summer and take a long time to cool. They are quite good in bushfire area's if constructed to the modern regulations. Colorbond, corrugated, custom orb (call it what you will) has a good lifespan. It's easy for builders to work with, is light weight compared to tiles, great colour choices, heat up really fast in summer but cools down very quickly when theres no sun. Also good in bushfire areas when constructed to the modern regulations. Custom orb is very cheap and is easy to use so is a overall great choice for almost every situation and this is what I'd recommend in your situation. Mainly due to the whole roof being removed. A Hip roof instead of the gable end roof would suit and really sharpen the style up. Easier for the builder as well. Gully or Jasper are both great colours for the roof but I'd get some samples first. These would look good against the existing brickwork and windows. I do like the greys in the Colorbond range but I don't think they'll suit the existing colours. Gutters same a roof colour but a lighter and crisper facia. You won't see much of the facia but it'll look great with a light highlight such as evening haze perhaps. I'd replace the timber veranda rails with new steel balustrading. A hardwood timber top rail would give it a nice lift as well. The existing blinds draw your eye to them rather than the house as a whole so I'd bin them. then some landscaping will give you a great house!

I don't like drab except as a way of filling in the gaps . Oops , bloody autocorrect , I meant dune . And anything grey . I'd actually go Eucalypt on the walls and roof , 'natural' wood but with a charcoal or green tinge , and Forest Green for the gutters and barge boards around the roof , the windows and also that front veranda roof , just as a bit of contrast . Yes , I know , it will get a bit warmer , but it's 1/20th of the cladding , on 25% of the year , so live with it ! And of course , the nicest bright dark green shade you can get for the front door . Don't want greens ? Go with surfmist as the main , roof and walls , Deep Ocean everywhere I suggested Forest Green , and an almost glowing Royal Blue front door .
