Need help with kitchen
Comments (10)It is odd to have front door leading into kitchen but presume you don't mind this. Therefore why don't you eliminate 3/4 wall do can take shopping directly from front door into kitchen then that will give you two entrances so should improve the flow. I like click and hall stand should keep that there to emphasise entrance from kitchen...See MoreNeed help with kitchen plan!!!
Comments (30)Thanks everyone for all your feedback and tips. Below is the plan I have come up with. Not sure how clearly it will show up. Have wrestled with the position of the ovens and sink - thought about swapping them and about having them centred but then think there would be too far between fridge and cooktop/ovens. Cooktop is 600m gas, then two below bench 600mm electric ovens, 900mm rangehood. Sink is double drain, double sink (1550mm in all). I know this seems excessive and against trend but I could not live without my double drain as always defrosting meat, bottles of milk etc and like to have one clean side and one dirty side of the sink. I love the idea of a bi-fold door appliance cupboard for toaster, kettle, microwave but not sure how practical it really is. Will the doors when open be painful and stick out near the fridge???? Do like the idea of having all that stuff tucked away though. What do you think of dishwasher position? Think I will make that gap between island and bench with dishwasher 1300mm as suggested. The only drawers I'm planning on having are a bank of 3 x 3 800mm in the island. I know that are more economical space wise but trying to keep costs down. Should add that behind the L-shaped benches will be windows as much as possible. Looking forward to your feedback. Thanks greatly....See MorePlease need help for kitchen renovation
Comments (24)If moving plumbing, etc is too much for your budget, why don't you leave existing kitchen where it is, open up the wall to the hallway and that bedroom that faces into the pool area. Close off a wall near the entrance/formal living room to replace the bedroom. Advantages are a) not moving expensive kitchen wiring, plumbing etc. Kitchen window still looks out into entrance to see comings and goings AND back to pool for informal living (maybe casual dining at an island seating area, casual sitting for pool). b) the existing dining, living room is a separate space (great when your kids are older to have two living options for noise isolation - adults in one, kids in the other). Both sets of rooms open off the entrance way, and that new bedroom can be the one you use as home office or guest (leaving other bedrooms for family)....See MoreNeed help with kitchen/laundry floor plan
Comments (8)Currently, the narrowest part of the family/living is 3.8 meters, plus 1.9 meters of laundry room. I'm planning to have the TV on the other side of the robe of bedroom 2, sofa in the middle and dining table near the sliding door. It's for a young family with 1-2 kids. Even with small changes everything needs to be redone including kitchen cabinets, plumbing, tiles etc. Is there a way to add an island ? Or incorporate the laundry with the kitchen, eg two sinks in the kitchen (one for kitchen and one for laundry) and hide the washing machine in the cabinets below the benches? I'd like to feel more open visually, however, cabinets space is precious too. Garage is 3.2 meters wide. The permeable paving area outside the garage is to park another car. Could the laundry be on the way?...See Moresiriuskey
