Comments (22)Restore the facade. Don't render as you'll loose the fabulous brickwork. Just re-point it. Do maintenance on the roof as needed. I'd pressure clean then see what it comes up like. If it's still a bit ordinary then paint it. I would do a bit of investigating on other original colour schemes before choosing charcoal, even though I admit the charcoal does look really good! By the way we render as we don't want to pay brickies to really use their craft so we buy cheap bricks and render. Render does look fine when used as a feature rather than a whole facade. Don't compete with neighbours make your house more desirable by keeping its character. I would however consider spending some good money on the landscaping. There are some superb gardens on these wonderful homes around the inner suburbs of Melbourne for example and would work great with yours....See MoreHelp me blend this ugly garage to the house
Comments (9)I think it’s cute! You use ‘ugly’ way too generously, lol! Even just doing the roof colour would help, before you even consider or afford whatever you decide to do to the brick - could you match the roof to the colour bond colour on the garage? Would that help tie in? Then I’m sure you’d find your theme for the fence. And agreed - landscaping will make a world of difference; draw the eye away a little bit from just the stark house front. Happy renos!! Enjoy the beach....See MoreWhich colour colourbond roof?
Comments (23)Yep, when we painted our house I went round in circles. Then the paint shops suggested we go look at a house that he new the colours of. We did and went with that. Internally several years earlier I had a colour consultant in and we adopted her colour schemes for the lounge and master bedroom,. I wasn’t happy with the suggestion for the master but went with it, and hated it from the start till I eventually repainted, she hadn’t listed to me. I was happy with the other room though. Get your sample pots and make sure you do 2 or 3 coats to get tru colour. It’s still a lottery sadly....See MoreHelp with choosing exterior paint colours
