Is a bath necessary in a small bathroom?
Comments (63)I have a shower over bath combo' which its plastic resin something? It's a old bungalow and pitifully small. The amount of times I have nearly slipped over getting out, or lost my balance with soap in my eyes/ or after having a glass of wine. hate hate it. I did see a shower room with a additional hand held device and a over head shower. I thought that good for the odd squirt your feet down. The next owners will probably rip it all out and start again any way when design ideas change....See MoreDesign advice please on small bathroom reno to queen of UNcreativity!
Comments (26)hi we have about six months ago now, re done our bath room , similar size to yours, and , i can take some photos and email them to you , we have maximised space, and walls , put in a white stone bath under the window , it is a metre in width , with a cool water spout coming off the centre under the window we pu t afalse ledge in to sit , candles etc on , , we tiles floor to ceiling, off white , wall mirror cabnit with three mirrors , inset into the wall so its only sits out a we bit from the wall tiles , floating bath room vanity , so that it makes the floor space look bigger , . matching stone square basin sits ontop of the vanity to one side so plenty of room to sit all your bath room stuff when need be , seperate shower all tiled as well , with inset , shelves for shampoo etc, also , when you open the bath room door and walk in when you close the bath room door behind it next to the shower is a very narrow floor to ceiling shelvec for towels, now the hole is there we jaust havent got the shelves put in yet. , we gt loads of comments as the bth room dosent look small evn though it is , , most expensive item the sqwat extra wide stone bath , made to order basin / tap ware and shower spray thing ,oh and the white stone vanity which we had made to order as well , due to the sizing ....See MorePlacement of powerpoints for bathroom
Comments (2)Hi Saf, There are so many options to the look of the power point these days you could choose white so they basically disappear into the tile or something more stylish that makes them a feature. If you do that, i'd make them both above the counter so there is symmetry. Also once you're using the bathroom, the styling (for example a pot plant or a tray with the soap dispenser, hand moisturiser and vase) will potentially hide the power points from view anyway. I have a single vanity myself but still went for two double power points (one each side of the sink) which allows us to have a google home mini speaker plugged in all the time, and I can use my hairdryer and straightener whilst my partner is also charging his shaver, without having to unplug/plugin. I also have a feature tile behind my vanity/mirror however still don't feel the white power points stand out that much. You could always change the face of the power point later if you think they look ugly? Hope this has helped. Kind Regards, Carol...See MoreWhere should we put the toilet in this small bathroom?
Comments (65)Hi AndrewJason, I love cavity sliders. they are there when you want them but not visible when you need the space open. Having said that they cost more, take a bit of wreckage to set up and in you WA case you will be wrecking brick walls to put them in which might be a stretch of mess too far. BUT you will need to weigh up if they are worth it in the end. I do not think the build will be too bulky in the kitchen/dining because it will be superbly practical on both sides and it maybe just a matter of what you are used to. Not sure about "Average Joe...…" we are all good at somethings, mine is plans, function, practicality, solar. Yours might be brain surgery, empathy for unwell folks, kinda or you make the best seafood lasagne in the world... we are all needed to make for a great world: and it really is that!!! Good luck with your splendid home: I think it is beautiful. And PS if you do make the best seafood anything I better have your address....!!!!!!! MK...See More- 7 years ago
