Advice needed on Reno Plans: Exterior Solution
Comments (3)Either on the left or centred looks good. I preferred the centre one. I think it comes down to function. If there is enough room to comfortably use the garages, and your guest room works better I'd go for the centre one. IMO the only thing that Is not working is the little add on gable over the new porch. It needs something up on the second level, but I'm not sure it's that. Maybe the porch can be extended into a verandah on the second floor. Or just give the porch roof a gable. Good luck with it....See MoreDesigners/creative folk..Please help with..ideas for bathroom reno....
Comments (18)Your mockup scheme is similar to our master bathroom we just completed - photo below. I know you mentioned storage being a concern - our mirrored cabinet has offered an amazing amount of storage in a very small space and also helps bounce light around. I was worried about black taps etc too so we kept chrome fixtures but added in a matte black candle and black potted orchid to create a similar effect which we can change out later on. Our floor tiles are dark but because they are semi-polished they actually bounce around a lot of light and don't make the room feel dark if that is a concern. We also have a huge fiddle leaf fig in the corner (not pictured) which adds a really nice feel to the space - a plant like that could help bring in the outside greenery in your bathroom. Instead of the storage tower you have to the left of the vanity could you do say some floating wood shelving, possibly with baskets added for more hidden storage? You could also bring in the 60s theme with what you displayed on there eg. photos as you mentioned? In regards to the window - a previous house we lived in had a window at about shoulder height in the shower - as well as letting in heaps of light it was amazing for storing toiletries etc!...See MoreWould love to see your reno ideas
Comments (16)Our house is similar, but we are empty nesters and down sized about 4 years ago, our needs would be a bit different to a growing family, we are currently in the throes of having two smaller rooms made into one area to further open up a previous renovation to give us a bigger open space..we also have an ensuite and a combined laundry / second laundry space. The good thing is that being a brick veneer house the reconfiguring is relatively easy with modern technology and big beams. As above try and have a big open space, we have been out of our home for a month now and still a way to go, add living away from home to your budget or stay with family. I will try and post the plan but here are a couple of journey pics ..the last photo was before trying to show how the two rooms decided the space making the living room very small and a bit dark...the aim of this project is to have space for a bigger gathering than about 4 people before overcrowded. Light is really important, nice big windows essential, the darkness of the living I thought I could live with, but it did get me down, I a, looking forward to having a much lighter space...See MoreNeed ideas for a tiny ensuite reno
Comments (41)Here are some tips for renovating a bathroom Plan ahead: Consider the layout and design of your bathroom, as well as your budget and timeline. Make a list of what you want to change or update, and prioritize your needs and wants. Hire a professional: If you're not comfortable or experienced with plumbing or electrical work, it's best to hire a licensed contractor or plumber to handle these tasks. Choose durable materials: When selecting materials for your bathroom, look for durable options that can withstand moisture and heat. This includes tiles, countertops, and fixtures. Save water: Consider installing low-flow toilets, faucets, and showerheads to help save water and reduce your utility bills. Add storage: Consider installing additional storage solutions, such as shelves, cabinets, or a medicine cabinet, to help declutter and organize your bathroom. Don't skimp on lighting: Proper lighting is essential in a bathroom, so consider installing multiple light sources, including overhead lighting, sconces, and a vanity light. Update the fixtures: Replacing old or outdated fixtures can give your bathroom a fresh, modern look. This includes the faucet, showerhead, and toilet handle. Invest in a good exhaust fan: A good exhaust fan is essential for removing moisture and odors from the bathroom. Make sure to choose one that is powerful enough for the size of your bathroom. Add a pop of color: Consider adding a pop of color with paint, towels, or accessories to give your bathroom a personal touch. Don't forget the details: Pay attention to the small details, such as the hardware, grout, and caulking, to ensure a polished, finished look....See More- 7 years ago
