This is going to be a great office! As you get your desk situated, don't forget cord management. I like these for a "floating" desk as others here have suggested you do. Do you like color? If so, maybe a soft butter yellow storage cabinet for printer and other electronics you don't have room for but don't necessarily want exposed on your existing bookcase. I am not sure if you already have a rug or not, but if you don't, here is a suggestion: Now that I'm going wild here, if you wanted some curtains to soften up the windows, you may want to try something like this: For your desk, try these fun accessories for inspiration: You could put a happy pillow on your chair for back support and visual interest: And a fresh new trashcan / wastebasket. (You could even have fun with this and paint the inside sunny yellow!

Also have a dual purpose room. We did inexpensive white shelving units around two walls, with fabric boxes to stash stuff, (office, and my "crafty" supplies), threw in a few decorative items. Got a tall basket for rolled up mats/foam roller storage, a complementary lower basket to throw in the requisite elastic bands, small hand weights, etc. Decorated walls with pics from our travels, framed with colored mats.

Hi Catherine, to help others make suggestions that will be suitable, would you be able to post a drawing of your room please - wall sizes & where the windows/doors are positioned? That way your space can be personalized for you. I think feature walls can look really good in certain spaces... but I think if you like it, do it :) it can easily be repainted over, especially if you have concerns down the track of resale... do what you love & what makes you happy- it will make your office space a happy place that you’ll want to be in & will bring out the best in you & your work :) I’ll be personally interested in responses about a good chair to save your back too... have you found any ergonomic chairs you like? I think your chair purchase will need to be done in store vs online so you can sit on a few & make sure they are a good fit for you & your spine, especially as you’ll be sitting in it for extended periods. As for gadget recommendations, I’m as untech savvy as they come lol - again I’ll be following with interest :)
