Need help choosing a colour for a fence
Comments (7)The underside and edges of the concrete balconies in "Ironstone" or "Ticking". If you paint the balcony railings in the same colour or black, they will visually disappear and you will be able to see onto the balconies and inside the apartments. By painting the railings in light colours like white, whitish grey, or a light colour similar to the bricks, the street viewer's sight will be stopped at the railing. This will provide a modicum of privacy on the balconies. For the fence, an orange/ochre will tie-in with the apartment's brick colour. i.e. a warm grey with red or ochre tint in it. The pillar crowns and the capping bricks on the wall in Ironstone/Ticking. Or you could just paint the whole fence in Ironstone or Ticking. If graffiti is an issue in the area, dark colours may attract it. My inner city Perth front courtyard rendered brick fence is a burnt orange and has never been graffitied but the gas meter box which is painted Ironstone always gets targetted. To get an idea of the visual effect of colours, look at the two cars parked out the front. You tend to look "at" the white car on the left (a blocking colour), but you look "through" the dark car on the right and it tends to "disappear" from sight....See MorePlease help me choose which tiles. Comments (4)It is difficult to tell exactly what colours are there already, but I think you need to consider what kind of visual impact you want the fence to have compared to the rest of the exterior. If you choose a colour similar to the house, the effect will be a unified frontage and the look of a larger property overall, but giving the house itself less impact. If you would prefer to create a visual break so that the house retains it's dominance on the block, a darker, cooler colour would be best for the Colourbond fence. I personally would recommend blending the fence with the gate as opposed to creating a contrast (which can look busy), but it comes down to personal choice in the end. Try holding a colourbond chip up to the house from the other side of the road and you will get a vague idea of what I am talking about! Good luck with it all!...See MoreHelp me choose the nicest one please??
Comments (7)When I look at the doona images, would I be right that your choices are guided by the commonality of the colours which feature in the prints and the back wall? As they are both quite dark and the bedroom doesn’t seem that large, I think both the large patterns & the depth of colour of any of these doonas would be a little overwhelming and I’d opt for white (as oklouise suggests). It also picks up the petal colour of flowers OR, pick up the softest mauve pink that the prints contain. A white doona would be an easy to find solution, whereas a plain block colour in the pink would be harder to find - it needs to be a dusty (for want of a better world “dirty pink”) The white could also be repeated in the larger pillow at back. I did think your dog was a good addition of colour! Hence adding the contrasting cushions in a very pink tan, along with the throw. Texture could be added with these. A fluffy throw perhaps, and a wee print on the cushions. If you can sew a straight line you can sew cushions so off to fabric store for this.😊 I’d also be shifting one of the prints to another wall and hanging the other one lower, (even lower than where I drew it) above the bedside table. The bed head is quite tall and the prints don’t seem quite right above it. I’ve had a play with a sketch and enjoyed myself throughly. Kept playing with a colour palette and this is what came up so I thought I’d include....See MoreItalian Girl
