Need help with front garden
Comments (2)We need pics, use the attach images button, at the bottom of the comment box. What region are you in? How much shade does the tree cast over the yard? Do you want low maintence? Clumps of bulbs, or pretty annuals that die back in the winter are an option. Camellias, which will flower over winter could interest when the tree is bare. Plant a vegie patch in the front yard over summer, leave the leaves on the ground and just dig them in in spring....See Morefacade of north west facing house we are renovating
Comments (14)Dulux Charcoal on the timber and also paint the orange tiles under the window on the timber side. Too many orange stripes, the other two match so I'd leave them. Paint windows and trim Whisper white, paint the top gutter against the roof charcoal and the trim under in Whisper white. Also paint the door step in charcoal. Like your house, all the different textures just need to compliment each other. I'm building mid century design now, I'm using all different textures too....See MoreWest facing Patio and deck
Comments (16)Hi friendly Kim. I've just looked at your profile to see if I could find your photos. I noticed you have them on a new post. I now understand, you already have a full alfresco area under the main roof, and vertical sun blinds, and also have noticed your fan, as you mentioned. The roof extractor fan may help remove the heat. I was also thinking if you had some tall lush plants along the side where the pull down blinds are. This would stop the sun, but allow the air through. But, sometimes we just have to move inside. This is why solar passive orientation of our new homes is so important. Hope you find a solution....See MoreWest facing patio
Comments (0)we need a solution as this is a problem summer and winter. it is now 11.52 and the sun is just starting to creep onto the patio. The cemented area under the temp gazebo will be timber decked at a later stage. We already have tinted sliding doors leading onto patio and vertical blinds on the patio which make it even hotter when pulled down (no airflow)...See MoreDeb Xuereb
