Comments (2)Hi Karin, You'll need a tile paint which is often an oil-based polyurethane. This will bond to the ceramic tile. Most of the major brands have a version of a tile paint. Just make sure you follow the product instructions and especially prepare the surface well. Tiles must be squeaky clean and dry!...See MoreSealing of grout lines around tiles
Comments (5)I would say it is probably something you need to request or DIY. My hubby did the tiling for our kitchen splashback and used a spray on sealer (light grey grout but it seems to be keeping it from staining behind the stove). For our ensuite he tried a paint on sealer (it had a rolling wheel applicator) to reduce fumes (still fairly smelly). We have white grout there and so far it has cleaned up well. I think reapplication is required especially if harsh cleaners used. Both products were from hardware store....See MoreHelp! What should I put on this entry way wall?
Comments (16)Definitely requires wallpaper or paint. I would probably go a textured wallpaper like a bronze /gold weave wall paper. It will give the area deapth and frame the space to make a statement. You have the furniture and space for it. Large art or a mirror. I would possibly keep it rectangular or squarish. A rug would soften and fill the space but would have to be selected carefully to ensure no tripping hazard. Maybe something patterned (replicated through abstract & lines like the legs of your table, with a pop of colour and upgrade the vase of flowers to reflect this colour. Comments (16)Since your tiles are NOT laid on a diagonal, they will not look dated. I would be concerned about the areas of floor that are used constantly. Eg: kitchen. Would the paint, overtime, be worn off. Laminate flooring would be good. If installing vinyl flooring, just be aware that the grout lines will show, if the tiled floor is not prepared before hand. You need to fill or the grout lines, so they are level with tiles. Maybe also installing an underlay before vinyl flooring. Personally, I don't mind the terracotta tiles. With the right wall colour and furnishings they look wonderful....See More- 8 years ago
