Comments (2)Nice of you to put such specific consideration into their needs! I would think that timber blinds or white timber blinds (venetians, which are much cheaper than shutters, but can look just as good. Because they are easy to clean, but mostly because teens tend to hide out in their room, sometimes this turns into a cave and they don't really care about opening the blinds each morning, also, they are particularly concerned about their privacy and sense of space, having blinds means they won't ever look messy and the most you have to do is open them up, and if they are tilted a Articular way, they still provide them a private blockout while letting the directional light in. I would also do a timber floor for a both, as they are likely to traipse in wearing shoes that of course are full of stuff from their adventures. They play sports, may spend time outdoors and timber floors scan be easily cleaned, carpets are ruined. As for a girl, if she has different interests, or spends time in her room often, a carpet rug on a timber floor. Rugs can personalize a space, so they have some saying the decor, and easily replaced, maintaining your timber floors beneath, while providing warmth and comfort. Even if covered mostly by furniture, the edge of a rug underfoot will feel more comfortable than not....See MoreHow have you dressed your bedroom windows?
Comments (4)The master bedroom in my previous home faced north. Floor to ceiling window getting full sun during the day, and a street light directly outside at night. So, an exterior shutter, internal blind and curtains allowed light and heat control for various times of day and season. The master bedroom in my current home also faces north with a floor to ceiling window, but no street light. On full moon nights though, it shines right in. Once again an external blind controls light and heat, and interior blind and curtain gives me options for different times of day and season, eg. we love the sun coming in during winter, but not summer....See MoreBedroom furnishing
Comments (15)Thank you so much for all the input. I love seeing all the photos and the applied features in the room! I am going for a mirror which will make the room bigger and a small bench stool covered in fabric that allows guest to put their bags on..etc without being in the way. I will get a nice chair for the desk and will put a couple of small floating shelves above the desk to provide an area to put a few books and nice displays / photos. I am definitely looking at artwork for above the bed head too. I will send photos when I have found mirror...etc Thanks!!...See MoreHow should I furnish this area of my bedroom?
Comments (7)You could buy a lovely bedroom comfy chair with a little side table for a reading nook if you just feel like relaxing with good light, I liked kiwimills suggestion of a day bed with storage, or you could make storage, cupboard for shoes built in if you wanted then add plants or nick nacks on the top of the cupboard for texture and designer look, if you are like me, you never have enough room for shoes!!...See MoreCelery.
